Copying someone else’s investment model is the fastest way to get wrecked.
Buffett bought moats, Schloss bought asset liquidations, Icahn bought board fights, and Andreessen funded code, you need to know your lane, master your operational edge. xitter.gq/iancassel/status/21176…
Warren Buffett invests his way while Walter Schloss did it another way. Carl Ichan does it his way while Peter Lynch did it another way. David Tepper does it his way while Marc Andreessen does it another. Some are long term. Some are short term. Some are value investors. Some are growth investors. Some are concentrated. Some are diversified. Some are activists. Some are passivists. Some bet on change. Some bet on things that won’t change. The greatest investors ever have opposing strategies. Even within the world of “value investing” alone, there are hundreds of successful iterations.
“Value investing requires a great deal of hard work, unusually strict discipline, and a long-term investment horizon.” — Seth Klarman

You hear everyone arguing over which software startup gets acquired, while $3.8 trillion in hardware spend is getting dumped into real world physical assets over the next 24 months xitter.gq/MilkRoadAI/status/2117…
The AI infrastructure spending boom is about to reach levels we've NEVER seen before, and I think Wall Street is STILL underestimating just how big this is going to get.
According to Wall Street estimates, combined annual capital expenditures from Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Oracle, SpaceX, CoreWeave, and Nebius are projected to increase from just $280 billion in 2024 to $951 billion in 2026, before reaching an astonishing $1.5 TRILLION by 2028.
We're talking about annual spending potentially increasing more than 5X in just four years, and what's even crazier is that these companies are expected to spend nearly $3.8 trillion combined between 2026 and 2028 alone. And I honestly wouldn't be surprised if these estimates get revised even higher over the next couple of years. We've seen time and time again that Wall Street continues to underestimate just how aggressively hyperscalers are willing to spend on AI infrastructure. Every time we think spending might be approaching a peak, these companies come out with even bigger capex plans, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
And I think people are still underestimating just how massive the opportunity is for the companies supplying all this infrastructure.
This is exactly why I remain so bullish on the broader AI infrastructure trade despite the recent volatility. Companies like Nvidia, Broadcom, Credo, and many others are positioned to benefit as hyperscalers continue expanding their infrastructure. And as AI clusters get larger, I believe networking, optics, and power infrastructure could become some of the biggest beneficiaries of this entire investment cycle. We're still in the early innings of what could become one of the largest infrastructure investment cycles in history, and I think the companies supplying the picks and shovels are going to have an enormous opportunity over the next several years. Bullish on the broader AI infrastructure trade. If you want to see how I’m investing around the companies supplying the picks and shovels behind this massive spending boom, check out our full Milk Road Pro portfolio below.
