Many politicians will use the Church is you let them. They want ministers to stop being primarily concerned about shepherding and discipling their congregation and become agents of their political party. Pastors shouldn’t be shamed into doing the bidding of political actors.

Those who are most eager to loudly demean other people’s culture are usually the most sensitive and most likely to breakdown about their culture being critiqued. The inability to humbly handle a critique is not strength and authenticity, it’s insecurity.

Political and racial tribalism make us bitter haters. We can’t admit when others do anything well and we’re constantly looking for faults. It’s the opposite of Christian grace and charity.

We claim to stand for justice, but when there’s a controversial case, we assert the innocence or guilt of people based on their identity. That’s not how justice works, it involves a process not assumptions. We should be asking for a just process not for a preconceived result.

Yes, parts of Western Christianity were “colonized” and unbiblical. No, every Christian principle you don’t want to follow isn’t “colonized” and unbiblical. The command to be holy and avoid indulging the flesh came from God not western oppression.
