some guy with a 20x leveraged position in a cartoon animal is currently studying congressional election forecasts like his life depends on it 馃
bitcoin was supposed to free us from the tradfin markets. now we're waiting for election results in america, negotiations in qatar, and friday's US jobs report to decide if we're bullish.

this will hit waves, we're not done here.
I would be careful trying to call the bottom before Binance opens withdrawals.

waiting for confirmation is my favorite.
by the time everything is confirmed, the market has already moved 15% and i can confidently buy the top again 馃
apparently the market is going to liquidate everyone 10% lower, fill your bids, and then politely send to $100k
i started bidding and buying here.
not because things have changed. actually, not much has. but something important did.
we're still following equities. the Fed is still ahead of us, macro is a mess, and there's enough geopolitical risk out there to send bitcoin down $5k in a single candle.
i still think we could see $75k, maybe even lower if someone big capitulates and takes everyone down with them.
but here's what's interesting.
the same people who were calling for $100k are now shorting $80k. every influencer suddenly has a very convincing explanation for why we need to go lower.
and after all the shit we've been through, bitcoin is still around $80k.
that's worth paying attention to.
one positive headline or stocks ticking up and we're back at $83k, $85k. maybe even $90k before the next bad headline hits.
imagine everyone waiting for the big capitulation candle, and when it finally comes, bitcoin dumps from $90k to $85k instead of $80k to $75k.
the level everyone was terrified of becomes support.
and the same people shorting $80k will be explaining why $100k was inevitable.
i'm not calling the bottom. but I started buying again.
my take plus a little fud.
i think at this point we're just following the stock market. nothing more complicated than that.
we're not bullish unless stocks are bullish.
look around.
the Fed meets next week, oil prices are rising, inflation is still a problem, geopolitical tensions are everywhere, gold and metals dumping, and the bond market isn't making life any easier.
meanwhile, big tech is starting to face some uncomfortable questions about the hundreds of billions being poured into AI and whether those insane valuations can actually be justified.
US midterms are less than two weeks away, adding another layer of uncertainty.
and crypto?
we've got our own problems. hacks, exploits, overleveraged traders getting wiped out on both sides, and a market that seems to need Wall Street's permission to go up.
i'm struggling to find a crypto-specific catalyst strong enough to change the bigger picture.
sure, we can bounce. we can squeeze the shit out of shorts. we can have a beautiful green day that get everyone excited again.
but a relief rally and a sustainable bull market are two very different things.
i'm not saying we can't go higher from here. i'm saying that until equities find their footing and real risk appetite comes back, it's hard for me to see crypto starting a meaningful bull run on its own.
we're not leading anything right now.
we're following.
being bearish in this market is pretty convenient.
red candle is confirmation, green candle is a bull trap, sideways is distribution.
you literally cannot be wrong.
crucial times. everyone seems bearish, like we're just sitting here waiting for the next leg down. breaking the range.
what bothers me is what happens if it actually comes.
if we lose this range, i don't see an immediate recovery. inflation is back, hawkish Fed, rate hikes are back on the table, war, oil is ripping, midterms are around the corner and there isn't much on the horizon to bring risk appetite back.
we could be looking at months, possibly years, of a bear market again. and the scary part is how quickly everyone will go from waiting to buy the dip to praying for their money back.
we need a good leg up, soon, it will bring the bulls back again. owtherwise... yeah, best call is stay small, or just sit on your hands, wtvr you do, survive this, ***you don't have to catch any move in this market***.
the market doesn't have to go down to take your money.
it can just go sideways long enough for you to lose your mind and start forcing trades.
