At the Oct. 20 study session, Broomfield Council discussed e-bikes, e-motos and off highway vehicles, including trends and enforcement challenges with CCOB’s current code. This provided an opportunity for staff to answer council questions and receive policy direction on how to proceed in addressing problems occurring in the community with certain electric vehicles. Staff is not proposing any restrictions to human powered scooters or bicycles, to include Class 1 and Class 2 e-bicycles. An ordinance based on the council discussion is scheduled for first reading at the Nov. 10 council meeting.
Navigating the rules and regulations surrounding e-bicycles, e-motorcycles and e-scooters can be complex and confusing and CCOB’s focus is safety. Visit Broomfield.org/ElectricRideG… to learn more.
