What the hell is @jgebbia doing over there at @ndstudio? Just logged into Social Security. Best, most modern ID-verification flow I've used this year. Not from a bank. Not from Apple. From the federal government. 🫡🇺🇸

@DHH is 🎯. Recycling plastic is a scam on all of us by the industry. The fastest way to wake everyone up from this hallucination is to ban plastic recycling. For first timers to this topic, start here: npr.org/2020/03/31/822597631… washingtonpost.com/climate-s…
Most domestic recycling efforts are empirically retarded, counterproductive, and require you don't value your time. Their real function is to fill the God-shaped hole, sized for penance, prayer, and sacrifice, in people's souls. wsj.com/opinion/most-recycli…

For an AI discussion with Sergey, I added the latest Google chips to the 130-year Moore's Law update. NOTE: it's a semi-log graph, so a straight line is an exponential; each y-axis tick is 100x. This graph covers a 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000x improvement in computation/$

This is co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras taking off in the very Learjet 60 N722BD that crashed yesterday at Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida. The 20-year-old aviator earned her private pilot's license at just 17, before even getting her driver's license. She clearly loved aviation from a young age. Gone far too soon. Ride with the angels, Nathalia.

Sometimes I remember this anecdote about Kissinger (told by Winston Lord) and think it might be a good approach with agents:
There is a lot of latent ability in coding agents, particularly in product/design. They will deliver shoddy work, but when you point that out, they can fix problems with only a small nudge Instead of writing up detailed feedback, try just saying “this sucks, can you improve it?”

If you listen carefully it’s a misplaced anger at his own parents for not making him feel worthy that turned into raging jealousy of other children who had parents that lifted them up and poured into them. He’s projected all of that onto white people. He needs to mend his heart before thinking about running for any office. White ppl haven’t hurt him. He knows exactly who did. Notice how he doesn’t get the satisfaction he was craving when the interviewer simply anchors himself & doesn’t validate that experience. We should all do more of this. Don’t validate anyone’s experience for the sake of temporary bonding.
Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed rants about how white kids had it better than him when he was a kid.

This is Socialism in a nutshell: “The NYC education system had betrayed my son to make itself look better.”
In a devastating 1rst-person piece, NYC education advocate and mom Adriana Aviles tells how her son received the highest grades in math throughout elementary and middle school in Queens’ District 26, the best in the city. Yet now in high school, she soon discovered, “He couldn’t solve basic algebra. He couldn’t do geometry. He couldn’t compute elementary-school fractions." “My shock soon gave way to heartbreak, then anger. The NYC education system had betrayed my son to make itself look better." “I failed too. I didn’t scrutinize his work closely or check his performance on state test scores because I figured if his report cards were good then everything was fine.” “I looked back and discovered he was deemed ‘not proficient’ in math on a 7th-grade state exam.” nypost.com/2026/10/31/us-new…

I used to review officer-involved shooting reports generated by a D.A. explaining the decision to exonerate officers, and recall often thinking “I mean, could that *really* be how it went down?” I suspected there may be some fog of war or selective memory or post-hoc justification to give the officer a rational justification and paint the victim in a negative, irrational light. But with the post-2020 adoption of body cams, I now believe it all. There is no behavior too insane for a huge number of suspects when confronted with literally any command by an officer requesting some form of compliance. Even I thought body cams would shine a light on some substantial percentage of clear officer abuse, but it’s clearly negligible, while dangerous and erratic behavior by suspects is widespread. It is impossible to overstate how wrong BLM and reform activists were on this count.

About the ongoing revolution in America, Swedish King Gustav III writes: “It is such an interesting drama to see a nation create itself, that I, if I now had not been who I am, would go to America to follow up close every phase in the emergence of this new republic. This is perhaps America’s century. This new republic […] may perhaps take advantage of Europe some day, in the same manner as Europe has taken advantage of Europe for two centuries.”

Always fun insights if you like map oddities
Delaware’s northern border with Pennsylvania is one of the strangest state boundaries in America. Instead of following a river, mountain, or straight survey line, much of it is an arc of a circle. The story of the circle's centre is wonderfully quirky... 1/n
