That screenshot is so familiar to me, until I started blocking people. People don't realise how emotionally stressful it is when you get this all the time, especially when you are an empathetic human being.
I’m sure many artists and collectors have received this message asking people to buy their art to help cover cancer treatment expenses. Some artists work for weeks or months and are lucky to sell one or two pieces. Every sale means something to them. They have bills to pay, families to take care of, and struggles of their own. Making art is already hard enough without feeling responsible for someone else’s problems too. And what about collectors? They support artists with their own money, often because they genuinely believe in the people behind the work. They help keep this space alive, sometimes spending money they could have used elsewhere. But being a collector doesn’t mean having endless money, and supporting artists doesn’t mean being responsible for everyone’s situation. Their kindness shouldn’t be taken for granted, and nobody should be made to feel guilty for saying no. If someone is using a cancer story and AI-generated images to mislead people and collect money, that’s not just dishonest. It takes advantage of the empathy that makes this community worth being part of. Nobody should have to spend money they can’t afford just to prove they care. And nobody should feel guilty for not being able to help. Compassion is not a business model. Someone else’s suffering should never be used to take advantage of people who are already fighting their own battles 🖤

You know what I find really funny? Amidst all this s4!t that's been happening lately, there are still those fake and sc4mmy people who are still playing the innocence game.

As an artist, I would never want to be anonymous. I view my art as my legacy—it is something I value deeply—and when I am gone from this world, it is my art that will live on. Because of incidents like this one, as well as many others from the past, I now approach anonymous accounts with much greater suspicion. I simply cannot fathom how someone could do something like this regarding such an important and sensitive matter. Actions of this kind harm not only those who collect from the artist, but the entire Web3 culture as a whole.
We didn’t check because he was a friend. Now it’s almost certain we have been fooled.

sant0s constantly creates new fake artist profiles, tricking people into thinking they are someone else. They then post: "I ruined my life 3 days before my wedding, becoming homeless" and drop a Solana wallet address to farm donations. I love Web3 because it’s not just blockchain technology—it’s a 24/7 unscripted reality TV show. 😂😂😂😂
So who is @0xdeist ? Let’s talk about how @Sant0s_eth runs a multi-account ghost collection factory, wipes her failures, and spins up "fresh" identities when liquidity dries up. Receipts below 🧵👇

After seeing this, can you blame me if I don't have sympathy anymore for this space?

He has deleted his account. So that is the closure. Some asking about his art if it’s real; This could be an evidence of theft too👇 networked.art/majesty8/88-62… i.pinimg.com/originals/e5/88…

We have been worried sick for @Rudiantfrog only for “his friend” to post an update with an AI photo. Post deleted but putting it here for you to make your own judgement.
