It is with great sadness that today we learnt that Prof Habatwa Mweene has succumbed to COVID. Habatwa was an excellent lead for the DARA project in Zambia. He brought his good humour to all the DARA annual meetings and he will be greatly missed by the DARA family.

Not only a potential high class scientific research but also commercially viable facility. google.com/amp/s/www.busines… @SpaceAgencyKE @mucheru @MoICTKenya @dara_project @SKA_Africa – at Glasgow, Scotland

Why Kenya should not abandon the Longonot satellite

While it is true that the facility is outdated, there are proposals to convert it to a radio astronomy research facility.
