Congratulations to @LDoerkson on becoming B.C.’s next premier. Serving this province has been the honour of a lifetime. I am so proud of the progress we've made and everything we've done together to make B.C. a stronger, fairer, more caring place. Thank you, British Columbia.
Behind closed doors, the Conservative leader is promising big developers he’ll rip up our housing plan, the same plan that’s brought rents down faster in B.C. than anywhere else in Canada.
We’ve seen this before. When big donors called the tune under Christy Clark, a generation of British Columbians was shut out of owning a home.
We can’t go back. Every vote counts tomorrow.
Supporters of the BC NDP and the Green Party share a lot of the same values. Strong public health care, protecting the place we call home, and asking the wealthiest to chip in more to build a stronger B.C.
That’s why we're asking for your support and your vote to stop Conservative cuts, higher costs and chaos.
If we stand together, we can build B.C. strong.
Having a nurse with time to focus on you makes all the difference. That’s why a BC NDP government will put minimum nurse-to-patient ratios into law, starting next with emergency rooms. Better care for patients, and a better place to work for the nurses who look after us.
Thank you, nurses.
Today in Vancouver, I stood with nurses and committed to enshrining minimum nurse-to-patient ratios in law.
Having a nurse who actually has time to focus on you makes all the difference. B.C. was the first in Canada to guarantee how many patients each nurse cares for, and it’s already helped us bring on more than 4,700 more nurses.
Our plan will:
1. Enshrine nurse-to-patient ratios in law, starting next with emergency rooms
2. Add 1,000 training seats for nurses, nurse practitioners, allied health workers and care aides
3. Keep connecting people to family doctors
4. Bring down wait times for tests and surgeries
There’s a clear choice in this election. The BC Conservatives are hiding billions in health care cuts and won’t rule out a health minister who supports an American-style, for-profit system. When health care is already under strain, we can’t afford that.

Today, we are announcing that a re-elected BC NDP government will protect you from gouging and unfair pricing. We’ll ban ticket scalping and prohibit predatory algorithmic pricing. We’ll expand the power of Consumer Protection BC, introduce right to repair legislation and restrict the non-compete clauses that hold workers back.
#NEW: BC NDP will protect consumers from unfair pricing

Families in Surrey are working hard and still feeling the squeeze. That’s why we’re taking on big oil to bring gas down by up to 30 cents a litre, and reining in the grocery giants’ profits on basics like milk, butter and chicken.
This is a moment for Canada to stand on its own two feet, and Surrey is going to help lead the way. From the Roberts Bank port to the Massey Tunnel, we’re getting the big projects done. Let’s keep building B.C. strong.
Surrey is about to become B.C.’s biggest city, and it’s time this city was treated like it.
That’s why we’re finishing the new hospital and medical school, and working with local leaders who’ve offered land to bring even more health care here.
And with a Surrey Charter, just like Vancouver’s, Surrey will have the tools to shape its own future. Building a stronger B.C. starts right here.
Surrey is high energy, entrepreneurial and one of the most diverse places in the country. Right here in Cloverdale, the new Surrey hospital is rising out of the ground. It’s the largest health care investment south of the Fraser, ever.
It was great to be here with Steven Dooley, who ran SFU’s Surrey campus and helped get the new medical school over the finish line. We’ve done a lot for Surrey, and we’re not done yet. Let’s keep building B.C. strong.

Kelowna is growing so fast, and families here deserve a hospital that keeps up. Loyal, George and Binny have been pushing hard for this, and I’m proud that a BC NDP government will invest $30 million to open up the sixth floor at Kelowna General.
Add our $25 million airport partnership with the federal government, and that’s better care and good jobs right here at home. Let’s keep building B.C. strong, Kelowna.
My dad was a lawyer, and he used to tell me: no matter what happens, lawyers always win. And if the Conservatives bring personal injury lawyers back into our car insurance system, that’s exactly what will happen. The Conservatives want the lawyers to win big and they want you to pay for it.
Shubh Dussehra! As Navratri comes to an end, Hindu families across B.C. are celebrating the victory of good over evil. It’s a reminder that goodness wins in the end, and that we’re at our best when we come together. Wishing you and your family a joyful Dusshera.
Newton is growing fast, and the people who live there deserve SkyTrain at their doorstep. A BC NDP government will work with Surrey to bring it down King George Boulevard.
Mayor McCallum and I got SkyTrain to Langley moving together. Let’s do it again for Newton.
BREAKING: BC NDP will work with Surrey to build SkyTrain extension to Newton

This election is bigger than any one issue, including the election timing. I’ve talked with a lot of British Columbians who are frustrated, and I hear that.
What I hope you take with you into the ballot box is an important question: who is going to best protect my family in this time?
A strong Canada. A united Canada.
Today in Vancouver, I had a message for Alberta on referendum day: we share families, jobs, a border and a lot of history. We don’t always see eye to eye. We argue, and we stay together. You’re our neighbours and our family, and this country is better with you in it.
Every British Columbian I talk to wants a strong, united Canada. We have people we love on the other side of those mountains. We count on them, and they count on us.
That’s how Canada was built: people in every province choosing each other, generation after generation. It’s carried us through hard times before, and it will carry us through whatever comes next.
I love British Columbia. I love this country. I will always stand up for a united Canada, because our Canada includes Alberta.
