Good news.
Binance has begun recovering affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds.
The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement.
Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can.
These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets. We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress. Ultimately, all user funds will be verified publicly through our Proof of Reserves.
We will weather this storm. Thank you for the support.

Every time there's a major hack the media in a coordinated fashion always begins their North Korea headlines. If I had not seen the media lie about so much for so many years I might believe them. There are psyops everywhere and the media has a major role. Wall Street has had to sit on the sidelines for years and watch the Binances of the world make billions while they couldn't without regulations. And now finally Wall Street is about to come in and we're all the suddens seeing hard wallet and exchange hacks left and right. I was born at night but not last night.
Hackers stole over $6 billion in cryptocurrency on Thursday, shattering the record for the largest such heist as multiple investigators pointed the finger at North Korea. CNN has reached out to North Korea's mission at the UN for comment. Pyongyang has previously denied hacking allegations. cnn.it/4sy7r3r

Stefan Thomas, former Ripple CTO and founder of Coil, has worked on Interledger, an open protocol for sending payments across different ledgers and currencies, since 2014. For most of that time, there was no lasting network to join.
Stefan at @RippleSwell presents Dassie, which is a permanent, peer-to-peer Interledger network where anyone can run a node. Dassie adds two layers on top of XRPL: settlement hubs, where regional validators run a fast ledger backed by a multi-signature XRPL account so members can pay each other quickly without trusting each other; and the Dassie network itself, where nodes peer automatically and route payments across currencies and ledgers, starting with XRP and RLUSD. Why now? AI makes it possible to build and rigorously test software faster than ever, and it's driving demand for exactly the kind of fast, efficient payments Interledger was built for. Come see Dassie running live.
They’re on it.
