🦔AI companies are bulk-buying rare books, scanning them through high-speed machines that cut the spines off, and shredding the originals. A service called ISBNdb facilitates orders of up to a million books and keeps buyers anonymous. Pre-2022 books are premium because they're free of AI-generated text. A federal judge ruled the practice is fair use because eliminating the original means only one copy exists at a time. Anthropic hired the former head of Google Books partnerships to obtain "all the books in the world." My Take This got to me. A bookseller told 404 Media that rare books with almost no surviving copies are being fed into this pipeline. Books that survived wars, fires, and centuries of handling are being shredded so an AI can learn to write a better marketing email. ISBNdb's website literally says "'AI company destroys two million books' is not a headline that generates sympathy," and they still built an entire business around making it happen quietly. They offer NDAs as a feature. They coach clients to call it "digital preservation." I've covered AI companies scraping the internet, torrenting libraries, and stealing music. This is worse because it's irreversible. You can re-upload a website. You can reprint a bestseller. You can't replace the last three copies of an 18th-century botanical text once someone shreds them for training data. And the judge said it's legal. So it's going to accelerate. "We shred rare books and offer NDAs so nobody finds out" is a legitimate business model in 2026. What a timeline. Hedgie🤗

It is criminal that our government enabled a bat virus to infect and spread between humans. Indeed, it is hard to imagine a bigger betrayal of our species. It is equally troubling that the mad scientists who did this then gaslit all the people of the world about it, including those who CORRECTLY interpreted the evidence. Then, of course, the very same monsters amped up fear of the Covid frankenvirus and steered the panicked public away from safe medicines, and toward an obviously dangerous gene-therapy which they falsely called a vaccine in order to lure us into acceptance. These are among the greatest crimes EVER committed against humanity. We now have persuasive evidence of everything I have said above. If we don't correct the record and hold the perpetrators to account, this pattern will happen again, and again, and again--shortening our life expectancy, and degrading our quality of life each time that it does. This is our Nuremberg moment. We can not simply move on from this ghastly chapter of history. We must finish it. @brownstoneinst

The State will program your thinking, so you never think outside the box the State has defined.
So here we have Ursula von der Leyen describing free speech as a virus and censorship as its vaccine.......

We should not be governed by pilots. The cartoon below is often used to mock skepticism about expertise. Yet I suspect it will one day be seen as a revealing artefact of our era, not for its insight, but for the ideology behind it. At first glance the premise seems reasonable. Of course it would be absurd to let a non pilot fly a plane. But the cartoon is doing far more than that. It is claiming that governance is primarily a technocratic operation rather than a political process. In doing so, it collapses democratic decision-making into a purely technical exercise. It undermines popular sovereignty, the principle that people are free to choose their leaders, even imperfect ones, and it dismisses the core democratic idea of civilian oversight over power. Flying a plane is a highly specific technical task with a single correct procedure. Governing a society is not. It involves value judgments, trade offs, contested goals, and questions of accountability. Expertise can inform those decisions, but it cannot replace democratic legitimacy. The cartoon endorses a top down technocratic order which is at its core authoritarian. When people reject this framing, they are not necessarily being irrational. They are reacting to being excluded from decisions that shape their lives, even if some of the alternatives they reach for have serious flaws of their own.

The answer is that Canada is a mentally ill nation. We saw this during covid-19. Liberals took a knee for George Floyd over "I can't breathe". Meanwhile COPD sufferer Danielle Stephanie Warriner was killed by security guards in a hospital because she removed her mask, so she could breathe. No one took a knee for Warriner because MSM & our government didn't tell people to take a knee. Instead a judge validated her killing even after video footage of security physically turned away the security cameras, before swarming her. Warriner initially went to the hospital because she was struggling to breathe. She died because hysteria in MSM & from our politicians validated abusing people who didn't comply with mandates, no matter the reason. Most Canadians never recovered from the mindset that our MSM and government tell them how to think and react. Most Canadians surrendered their free will long ago and now only care about themselves and those closest to them.
Canadians hating on Glenn Beck for using his wealth and fame to help someone less fortunate is peak liberal mob mentality. What can he possibly gain by helping someone get life saving surgery that her own country can't provide?

When a talking head says "we need to shape the narrative" it's another way of saying "we need to lie, either outright, or through the sin of omission".

NEW: The media is now claiming VP Kamala Harris was never the ‘Border Czar’ as the Trump campaign starts ramping up attacks. You don’t hate the media enough. March 24, 2021: “Biden puts Harris in charge of border crisis” - Axios. July 24, 2024: “The Trump campaign and Republicans have tagged Harris repeatedly with the "border czar" title — which she never actually had.” - Axios. The articles were written by the same ‘journalist,’ Stef Knight.
