dub just raised a $30M Series A to change how America invests.
People are bad at picking stocks. Instead, they should pick smart people to copy-trade. Here’s dub’s story:👇

Stephanie was a day 1 and believed in me when I was just a 19-yr-old dropout with a radical idea for retail investing. Couldn't recommend her enough as your first check. She's had a real hand in many of the transformative companies of our era and companies I deeply respect!
I’m starting a new early-stage AI fund, doing what I love: partnering with founders from company formation on bold bets, long before consensus.
The fund’s LPs will include Sequoia, Jeff Dean, Sachin Katti, Philip Wong (my Stanford professor and Chief Scientist adviser to TSMC), and others whose work has shaped our industry and how I think about AI’s future.
I’ll remain a partner at Sequoia and keep serving on my boards on Sequoia’s behalf.
Sequoia has been my home for the past 11 years. I joined as the youngest investor the firm had ever hired. I grew up here. Through years of intense debate and shared work, I found lifelong mentors and friends who took me under their wing and taught me this craft. They taught me to aim high and take big swings. I’ll carry that into what I build: outsized ambition, relentless truth-seeking and curiosity, and a refusal to become complacent.
Working alongside founders has made me want to build something of my own: a firm shaped from day one around the convictions I’ve developed over the past decade.
Life has taught me not to take time for granted. This is how I want to spend mine.
Why now
We’re seeing a new way of building companies in today’s AI era. Research and products often advance together. A breakthrough can open a market or accelerate a business far faster than expected. Some companies require extraordinary capital and compute early on. Others reach meaningful scale with remarkably small teams. The rules for how big these businesses can get, and how fast, are being rewritten.
But early on, the technology is unproven, the resources required enormous, and the vision seemingly implausible.
This is what I love most: seeing the potential right from the beginning, and helping founders realize their full scale of ambition.
More than ever, it starts with an extreme willingness to believe early, with bold, independent conviction in a founder’s technical insight before any product or market validation. Then, it means helping founders take the biggest swings, giving the rare, long-term patience to see those bets through uncertainty, ambiguity, and turbulence, and serving as a level head when the stakes are highest.
I learned this kind of partnership at Sequoia. It’s the foundation of the firm I’m building.
Believing before consensus
My fascination with AI’s potential took root at Stanford in the early-to-mid 2010s, studying computer science and working in Andrew Ng’s lab. The friendships I formed connected me to a community whose people and ideas would help shape modern AI and build some of our generation’s defining companies. What stayed with me was the gap between what those people saw was possible and what the wider world could imagine.
I’m drawn to founders pursuing ambitions that sound impossible today.
I start with a simple question: “What if everything goes right?”
Then we work backward together to make it happen.
In 2023, Deepak and Abhinav set out to build a general-purpose robot brain at @SkildAI, before physical AI was a consensus bet. Their sim-to-real breakthroughs gave me conviction where earlier robotics approaches had fallen short. But the data flywheel required deployment at scale. We made commercialization as urgent as research and brought in strategic partners like NVIDIA and SoftBank to support the ambition. Three years in, Skild is advancing the frontier of physical AI with nine figures in annualized revenue.
In 2024, Ioannis and Misha founded @reflection_ai with an insight into scaling reinforcement learning. As that grew into the ambition to build a Western frontier lab for open models, the hard question was how a startup competes with labs spending tens of billions. An introduction to NVIDIA and many compute calls and recruiting events later, the team has built Beam, now one of the leading US open models.
In 2025, Anna and Azalia, the co-creators of AlphaChip, founded @RicursiveAI to design models and hardware together. From day one, we made early customers and ecosystem partners a priority. Today, they are showing order-of-magnitude improvements on real workloads, working with some of the industry’s most consequential players, and reaching a defining inflection point.
The ambition keeps growing as these companies scale.
@linear has always had a kind of magic to it. Now it’s the system a new generation of AI companies builds on, for teams and agents alike.
@tavus saw early that we’d one day talk to AI the way we talk to each other. Today, it’s building the human computing interface for a world of AI colleagues.
@Mach_Industries began as hydrogen experiments in an MIT dorm room. It has since become one of the most exciting next-generation defense companies.
Making the ambition possible
Being a first believer is only the beginning. Compute falls through. A deep-pocketed incumbent makes your mission its top priority. A breakthrough changes the opportunity and the capital required overnight.
These are stomach-churning moments, and early belief carries a responsibility to help make the bet work.
This is the partnership I love: turning the full ambition into concrete steps. Raising capital, securing compute and strategic partners, recruiting exceptional people, and winning the first customers together. Thinking several moves ahead while solving what’s in front of us. And as breakthroughs open new possibilities, helping founders dream even bigger.
Thank you
To the founders I’ve worked with: thank you for trusting me and Sequoia to be your first partner and first believer. It’s been the joy of a lifetime, and I can’t wait to keep building together.
Thank you to Alfred and Pat for your leadership of Sequoia and your support of my next chapter. To Roelof, for bringing me into Sequoia and believing in me from the beginning. Alfred and Roelof, you have been mentors in investing and in life. So much of what I know, and the investor I’ve become, comes from your guidance and generosity over the years. To Bill, for the close partnership and wealth of knowledge, always wrapped in humility. To Shaun, for showing me how to think deeply and imaginatively. To Michael Moritz, for inspiring 22-year-old me to dream big. To Doug, for teaching me to keep things simple. To Bogie and Jess, for bringing joy to the everyday and perspective on what matters. And to all my Sequoia teammates, for the friendship, camaraderie, and lessons I’ll carry with me.
To my family, especially my husband and my brother, who have each started companies of their own: thank you for giving me the courage to take this leap.
Let’s get to work!

Replying to @elonmusk
@elonmusk says he’s giving every kid in America a share of SpaceX next year... INCREDIBLE for the American dream imo.
Everyone’s gonna debate what one share is worth, but honestly the only part I care about is what it does to a 12 year old’s brain.
12 yr old me was hustling Pokemon cards. Give that kid a tiny piece of a company building rockets and I would’ve watched every single launch... then bugged my parents about how the engines work... then gone down the rabbit hole on what it’d actually take to live on Mars.
yes, ofc most kids will forget they even have it.
But somewhere a kid is gonna watch a launch and think “yooo, I own part of that.”
Elon’s been chasing multi planetary for 20+ years & that mission *probably* takes longer than one lifetime. Lowkey this is succession planning in many ways by inspiring the next gen. He’s giving the next generation of Americans a reason to care.
If even a few kiddos go from watching launches to building what’s next, best money he ever spent!

I share on @CNBC some key stats like: 52% of Gen Z investors have redirected investing money to sports bets.
cnbc.com/2026/08/28/sports-b…
Sports betting is becoming the new investing for GenZ. Seeing thing accelerate among @dubinvest customers & my own peers. Why?
1. Access: prediction markets being available everywhere makes it easier to 'bet' than ever before
2. Culture: live events, community - all key facets of sports - are only becoming more important in a world of AI.
3. Dopamine: it's fun to gamble.
4. Greed: many genuinely thing they have a leg up since they know their "own team" super well.
"It's a fearful world out there. The one thing I can do to contribute back was the thing that changed my life, which was investing."
That's @swangentr Wang on @BloombergRadio, calling out the threat to his own generation: financial nihilism. AI is moving through entry-level work. Fewer people are going to college. A lot of Gen Z has concluded that the system is rigged and participating is pointless as they see the wealth gap expand and their chances of owning a house diminish.
The wealth gap in this country is substantially an ownership gap. Equity has been the primary engine of household wealth for a century, and the reasons people opt out of it are mostly structural. Investing well has required time, information, and the ability to pay someone competent to do it for you. Investing is the entry point Gen Z and others need to begin building their standing in the ownership economy.
On dub, you copy real investors and the trades execute automatically in your account. You don't have to become a stock picker, and there's no minimum standing between you and starting.
2 million people have downloaded dub, and over $1 billion has traded through the platform. The appetite has never been in doubt.

I define the "NEW AMERICAN DREAM" on the @TEDx floor at my alma mater... one based on the immigrant journey, the wayward path of my generation, and loss of belief in the great future of American innovation and greatness.
The very reason my parents gave it all up to come here with nothing... was Ownership - real participation in the incredible value Americans create, value greater than anywhere else in the world.
Many GenZ seem to have forgotten what it takes to be the best, and lucky we all are to be in the country that makes it not only possible but accessible to all.

Citadel and Millennium don't run one strategy
They hire the best portfolio managers and optimize the mix
We just made that possible for ANYONE
We gave Claude access to 3+ years of our proprietary portfolio data
This is real-time positioning from HUNDREDS of professional investment advisors, hedge fund managers, and retail traders actively navigating live markets
We connected it to a paper trading account
It built a diversified mix of 9 strategies tailored to the investment thesis we provided
Claude executed 124 trades AUTOMATICALLY
The entire process took less than 5 mins
You don't have to be a multi-millionaire to enjoy personalized asset management...
The average person who remained invested on dub for their first full year made 24.5%.
We pulled the data on every Dub customer who held securities across all four quarters of their first year on the platform.
Here's what we found:
Mean return: 24.5%
Median return: 23.3%
Trimmed mean: 23.4%
That cluster (average, median, and trimmed mean) all landing between 23–25% means this isn't being dragged up by a handful of outliers. It's broad-based.
So how does dub work? It’s simple.
Any investor regardless of experience in the markets can jump on the app and start copying stock portfolios made by real investors.
Portfolios, baskets of stocks, can either be set to update automatically when they’re changed, or set to be manually synced.
The strategies have real performance, verified on app, and are shown against a benchmark. They’re also scored on volatility, market sensitivity, and display their biggest drawdowns.
When you want to copy a portfolio, press the copy button at the bottom of your screen and invest however much you want.
We're the first Social Investing app.
But What is Social Investing?

Dub CEO, @swangentr, answers this crucial question:
Why do only 17% of Americans feel confident about investing?
Americans need a new form of deploying Capital:
Gambling and hasty stock picking won’t cut it.
Just 4% of online bettors withdrew more than they spent over a five-year period. In a survey, 49% of U.S. adults said they gambled within the past year. Revenue in the Gambling market is projected to reach US $655B in 2026.
So what’s the alternative? Investing?
Well, the median investor spends just six minutes researching before buying a stock. Most of that time is spent in a burst immediately before placing the order.
Less than 1% was spent considering metrics related to risk.
That’s why we created dub: dub aims to help you outsource your investing strategy. The idea is to connect you with an investor you believe in, based off your research and the transparent data we show you on app.
You can’t fake returns on dub. You can trade 100% automatically after copying an investor.
Don't miss out.

62% of Gen Z trusts social media over financial advisors.
So where do people actually learn about Investing?
- 36% of ALL Americans lean on social media for financial advice over traditional advisors
- For Gen Z? That number hits 62%
- 72% of Americans believe financial apps have made wealth-building more accessible than ever
- Gen Z wants to hit financial independence by age 32
- The national average? financial independence by age 53
Bottom line, people trust people they see consistently, whose thinking is visible over time. That part is rational. But it creates a problem.
New investors are piped two streams:
The first, social media advice, which we know can be untrustworthy and send you down unprofitable rabbit holes, and often is designed to sell you on products.aThe second is Robo advisors, designed to be easy and hands free, but removing choice from the equation. It’s a black box with no transparency. The Robo Advisor market is projected to reach $3.2 trillion by 2033.
But a lot of investors don’t want boring choices made for them. They also don’t want untrustworthy advice. But there was simply no middle ground. That’s where dub comes in.
We're building a creator economy for finance—but with accountability baked in.
Transparent track records, real portfolios, and feedback on every trade.
But more than that, we give investors a choice, while still getting you the ease and simplicity of automatic trading.
The idea is for you to come and evaluate strategies and choose one.
You find investing strategies, analyze them using track records, volatility, risk, market sensitivity, and more, and then you can copy the portfolio. After that, every trade is automatic.
