Preview of my new #portfolio template. Think it'll help me get hired?
As part of my continuing journey to #breakintotech, I created a responsive portfolio template using #React, #Nextjs, and #TailwindCSS.
Feel free to fork, star, and share!

Latest project: Building a clone of the Sub Pop Mega Mart online store from scratch using Express, Node.js, and Pug with Bootstrap.

Day 29: Created my first fully functional message board. I feel like I just leveled up... #100DaysOfCode
Day 26: Improved the responsive design of my weather app using media queries and added it to my portfolio site. Flexbox order property was very useful in this!

Day 25: I was getting rusty with Express, so I relearned routing, CRUD operations, and MVC with the awesome crash course from Traversy @ youtu.be/L72fhGm1tfE
First time using handlebars. Fun and super efficient, but I'll stick with React!

Day 21:
Learned advanced CRUD operations in MongoDB. Aside from the weird operators, I'm really enjoying learning more about the backend and I can see a lot of ways I can use non-sensitive data collection in my apps to provide a rich UX. Onward!!

I had a busy work week and clients come first, so I haven't checked in for #100DaysOfCode. Does that mean I start over or pick up where I left off or..?
On the plus side, I'm back at it and learning MongoDB and loving it!
Day 19:
Achievement unlocked!! Today I launched my portfolio site at dylanarveson.com/

Day 18:
I was sitting in my truck and coding while listening to music and hit a really good flow. Two hours later, my battery's dead. Anyone got a jump?

Day 17:
I'm putting together a portfolio site and wanted to go for a brutalist design. Coded with React and CSS flex. I think I need a better photo... 🤔😅

Days 15+16:
Learned how to use react routers and apply them to a MUI app bar, more app development, started digging into Design Patterns, and learned more Git features. Also been going through Google's #uxdesign course in my "spare time."

12 & 13:
I noticed a useState function i wrote was long and redundant, so i tightened it up with nested conditionals. Nothing big, but just keeping up daily practice.
Also started freecodecamp's HUGE (8+ hour!!) express/node video. 😬

11/100:
Deployed my #Reactjs app! It's not totally done, but I was excited to get reacquainted with #AWS and couldn't wait. Also started reading Express documentation. I can already see why some full-stack devs prefer backend -- that's where true power lies...!
