"The reason we lost is the war."
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

This is cope: 760k net people moved to Texas since 2020 Even if EVERY SINGLE ONE voted Dem it would not account for the 1.2 million margin that Talarico is winning the state by This was a *Texan* referendum on the entire GOP
Texas there is a lesson here. Don't be so welcoming.

As a NATIVE BORN Texan here is what I knew that apparently Bo French and the IQ posters did not: That the average Texan, and almost especially the median white Texan, is so repulsed by him that they will literally vote D for the first time in their lives to send a message
Tonight wasn’t the night our campaign had hoped for. To everyone who stood alongside us, gave your time, and believed in what we set out to accomplish, thank you. I will never forget your dedication, your friendship, and, above all, your love for the great state of Texas. As Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.” My dreams for Texas and America remain undiminished, as does my faith in the indomitable spirit of the people of the Lone Star State. I’m not going anywhere — because we have work to do. Onward.

LOL Thats what people thought after Iraq including Trump allegedly. Then he's the one who listened to them 20 years later
Hearing lots of anger from inside Trump’s orbit about how GOP is getting killed over the Iran war, including this from one source close to White House: “If any good comes out of tonight for the Republican Party, it’s that no Republican president will ever listen to imbeciles like Mark Levin and Marc Thiessen again”

Joe is a 67 year old Democrat. He voted for Dan Osborn and Denise Powell. His main issues are sports gambling, which he likes to do, as well as the Iran War, which he says is being fought on Israel’s behalf. He cited AIPAC’s influence in elections as the reason for the bipartisan consensus in Washington on sending aid to Israel.

On @DKThomp's podcast today, Breaking Points host @esaagar condemned the 2018 nationwide legalization of sports gambling as one of the worst policy failures in modern American history. Enjeti highlighted how emerging prediction markets exploit deceptive loopholes to convince users they are participating in an investment platform rather than a gambling app: “This is a company (Kalshi) built on the back of regulatory arbitrage, where they redefine gambling as prediction markets, basically buys off the CFTC, and gets the federal government to legalize gambling nationwide… I’m sorry, that's not innovative. That’s not impressive. That is not something we should celebrate as part of the American story… Nothing gives me more genuine despair than online gambling… I am watching people destroy their entire lives.”

The meatball has landed
Governor DeSantis SLAMS Trump for taking us to war in Iran and gaslighting voters! “He obviously ran saying he wasn't going to do a middle east war and they did. So we had some of our voters who've checked out because they're like I didn't want any more middle east wars and now we're doing it And what's happened is it's kind of an open-ended conflict and it's having a direct impact on people's finances. Gas is higher. It hurts people, working class people and it's higher because of this conflict. That's just a fact. If you can't admit that to voters then you're gaslighting them and they're not going to listen to you on other things.”

Tarek Mansour has for days now said that what sets him apart from casinos is that he doesn't win if you lose But the NY AG now says that actually the other side of your parlay bet is literally Kalshi Trading!
Replying to @WALLACHLEGAL
On Kalshi “combo” bets, the NY AG alleges, the other side is not another ordinary user: it is either Kalshi’s in-house market maker, Kalshi Trading, or one of the platform’s approved market makers.
