This morning, @ETFOpresident David Mastin was on CBC @metromorning to discuss central bargaining. Host @chrisgloverCBC asked him to respond to Minister Calandra's talking point about the province putting historic investments into education. President Mastin: I would say that I'm putting a historic number of dollars into my gas tank, but it's still not filling the tank the way it did back in 2018. You have to adjust for inflation... It's not about how much money you're putting in; it's what that money actually purchases. And I hope that here, in Ontario, we care about what services, resources, and supports we're able to put on the ground for students, because it's not keeping pace with 2018 levels. Reality over rhetoric. Always. #onted #onpoli

Get ready for action and SAVE THE DATE! Two weeks from today, on Wednesday, September 16 there will be a province-wide Day of Action. Together, teachers and education workers will wear red or purple to send a visible message that we are united, ready to bargain, and working together to defend publicly funded public education. As part of the Day of Action, ETFO members are asked to wear red and post a photo with the hashtags #OntEdUnited and #Red4Ed.
