When slowing down makes you faster...(& smoother...)
ADB (Autonomous Decentralized Bearing) is a patented technology developed by Sosuke Kawashima (Coo Space Co., Ltd.)
By introducing a small indent into the outer race of a deep groove ball bearing, the balls become self distributing & non-contacting without the need of a cage.
Translation: the balls don't bump into one another so no cage is required, which then means sliding friction is virtually eliminated, energy consumption is reduced by over 90%, and no lubrication is necessary.
That precise indentation I mentioned slightly decelerates and then accelerates each ball back to full speed as it passes over it. A small gap is thus created between the balls due to this change in speed. Any incidental contact between the balls acts as a restorative force, effectively transferring momentum between them and ensuring uniform spacing naturally.
Pretty cool stuff (and so very simple) in other words.
This technology is currently touted as being applied in deep sea & competition skate/bike/wheelchair cases, but seems like a prime candidate for any super low friction, demanding environment, and/or long life applications.

We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵

We wanted to make it easy for @MetaMask users to link and connect their wallet to @nuri for easy top-up but it seems that we get forced by their SDK adding tons of analytics to OUR app through their SDK which not only opens the doof for software supply chain attack (see recent @Polymarket hack) but is also just evil shit sneaky and dirty from @metamask to do that in the first place.

there are basically 5 places that I've never regretted spending money and think most people underinvest
1) to get your friends/family together - having a wedding totally changed my mind on this. Absolutely worth it to spend money to do something special that gets your favorite people in one room
2) to pay for help with kid(s) - raising a family is tough and absolutely an area you can throw money at problems
3) To support a friend's idea/business/event - it's extremely hard to create something, and there's no better way to show support for a friend than being a customer or investor
4) Really memorable and unique gifts - everyone loves gifts, but the feeling of getting something hyper specific really hits you in the feels. I got a friend a custom wood engraved catan set for his wedding and we still play with it to this day
5) Very unique experiences with family - vacations, events, shows, etc. There have been many times where I've been on the precipice of wondering if something was worth the money (e.g. tourist-y stuff in another country) but 9/10 times it's worth it and even a month later I probably couldn't remember how much it was but could remember how awesome everyone felt during it.

Back in 2017 at the Security Protocol Workshop I wrote a very light paper on this exact topic because of the bitfinex hack.
It was essentially just that exchanges should be implementing smart contract wallets as vaults with time-delayed withdrawals.
It wasn’t as sophisticated as deciding withdrawal tome based on size, but highlighting that exchanges must focus more on reactionary security measures.
