Recycles Week Car Seat Drive, Nov 11–13!
Families are invited to bring old, expired, or unwanted car seats to participating elementary school collection sites to help keep them out of the landfill.
Last year, our school communities diverted more than 125 car seats!
Creativity and imagination hit the runway this week at Fayetteville High School’s Project Runway! 💜

It's campaign season at Butterfield!
Students have been learning about local elections and citizenship, and Mayor Molly Rawn joined in the learning to talk about local government and help students create campaign posters featuring their favorite “Frog and Toad” characters!
Caden’s Calling (cadenscalling.org) recently presented Arisa Health with a check to support mental health services for Fayetteville Public Schools students.
John L Colbert students had the opportunity to explore a mobile cave filled with 60 feet of tunnels and hands-on learning. From cave rescue techniques and learning about bat biology to exploring physics and conservation, students discovered science, math and history in fun, ways.
Our Magnet School Steering Committee, made up of FPS staff, parents, and community members, recently held its third meeting to help shape the vision and learning opportunities for our future magnet high school.
Mr. Bradshaw and his FHS woodworking students created garden beds for Root Elementary! The FHS students delivered and helped assemble the beds alongside Root’s kindergarten students.
FPS Garden coordinator Stephanie Jordan helped students explore the parts of a plant.
Members of FHS Student Council met with Gage Reed, the City of Fayetteville’s Homelessness Strategy Coordinator, to learn more about homelessness in our community. The discussion also focused on preparations for the annual Homeless Vigil, on Thursday, December 10.
A topping out ceremony was held this morning at the site of the new Woodland Jr. High School that is under construction on East Joyce Blvd. Special thanks to @NabholzCorp, @modusstudio, and Connect Advisors for their roles in getting the project to this day of celebration!
Fourth grade students at Butterfield collected donations for “Paws for a Cause” and had a special opportunity this week to present them to Big Paws of the Ozarks!
Students gathered toys, dog food, and treats, and other supplies to help care for animals in need.

Owl Creek School welcomed former students, staff, families, and even some future Owls this weekend to celebrate 20 years of learning, memories, and community!
The celebration included a short program followed by food, fun, and plenty of time to reconnect and share memories.

Join us Tuesday, October 20, for the 16th Annual Harvest Lunch! FPS Child Nutrition is serving up a special, locally sourced meal featuring ingredients from farms and small businesses right here in Northwest Arkansas.
Fourth graders at Vandergriff Elementary worked alongside Arkansas Game and Fish biologists to plant native aquatic plants in their school greenhouse. They’ll care for the plants throughout the school year before planting them in local lakes!
