On a previous episode of Tea with GaryVee I was asked, "You talked about live shopping almost 20 years ago. What did you see then?"
Talking about it and not doing it is at an all time high⦠donāt be that pumpkin š ⦠stop š the yapping and get to carving š“
When you arenāt conforming or youāre innovating by spiting in the face of the incumbents ⦠you either die misunderstood or live long enough to get your flowers šŗ
This post is for the courageous ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Thereās a difference between someoneās opinion of you and someone imposing their opinion on how you should operate.
Thatās why I always tell leaders, judge the judgers, and I think too many leaders blindly take the feedback of their direct reports without realizing sometimes their direct reports are undermining people underneath them cuz they themselves don't want to lose their spot. But if you can judge the judgers and have a good feel on that, you can figure out who you need to trustā¦and those people's words should carry a lot of weight.
If you want great things to happen for you, the fastest way, let alone the easiest way is to actually do great things for others...

Candor is not an excuse not to be niceā¦and being nice doesnāt prevent you from being an effective leader. Just like you can be patient and ambitious, or have both great humility and great conviction, you can be both honest and kind. The trick is in finding the right balance.
So many are worried about looking ācringeyā... You know whatās really cringey? Worrying about what other people think and letting the fear of losing keep you from trying in the first place. So many of you are so scared of being boo-ed that you never get started.
Your embarrassment is your advantage.
Whatever it is that you want to do, please donāt allow yourself to be at the mercy of other peopleās opinions.
You choose. You choose who you listen to. You choose who you are surrounding yourself with. You choose to believe in YOU.
Why are you taking somebody elseās opinion about yourself greater than your opinion about yourself?
If you take anything from this, know that you have to believe in yourself first.
Whoever is leaving mean comments on your content most likely has no idea who you are.
The biggest thing that you need to realize is they donāt know you. People criticize me all the time but they have no idea who I am or what I do. They read one quote or look at one clip, out of context, and they think they know me. Iām not too big on constructive criticism when it comes from people who have no idea what theyāre talking about. Judge the judger whoās judging you. So, when I talk about judging, I take the full context of the feedback or advice that I'm being given. I think one of the things that many people struggle with is they're not good at understanding the intent or agenda of the person giving them feedback. So, the first thing I think about is not their experience. Just because you've built a $150 million business doesn't mean that when you're giving me advice, it isn't coming from the framework of you trying to lower the price of the valuation so you can invest in it. You have to know the person's intent.
On a previous episode of Tea with GaryVee I was asked, "Which historical figure do you think would crush it on social media today?"
Dwelling about the past is the worst use of energy a human can deploy ā¦
Regret
Dwelling
Complaining
Festering in the past
ALL BAD! Stop š doing it
Itās over ⦠move on .. stop beating yourself up or blaming someone or something
Moving on ⦠forgiving .. will change your life ā¼ļøā¤ļø
