From Virginia, to California, what happened across the country started right here in Texas. I’m proud of my colleagues who stood up for Democracy. Help support our Dem members, and send them back to the #txlege! Donate to @TexasHDCC today!

“Democrats have to deliver,” Gene Wu, the chairman of the @TexasHDC, said from his home in Houston on Wednesday morning. “No excuses, no whining, no crying.”
Thanks @lmcgaughy for highlighting the work of Texas Dems across the board! Let’s go! #txlege
“We’re going to let cities decide if they want to have rainbow sidewalks again.”
For the first time in about 25 years, Texas Democrats will have a real chance to govern. They aren’t wasting any time.

For the first time in 23 years, we have flipped the Texas House. Now let’s get to work on delivering for Texas families. #txlege
We did it. We flipped the Texas House! (And a whole lot more.) #txlege

Democrats didn’t just win the Senate and Governor’s races in Texas.
-We’re likely going to win ALL 17 of Texas’s statewide races.
-We also won the Texas House.
-We also won the Texas Senate.
-We also won all 5 of the U.S. House seats they gerrymandered.
This is a bloodbath.
Dean Thompson deserves to be Speaker. I look forward to electing her.
For anyone wondering, last week, I asked House Democratic Caucus Chair @GeneforTexas about whether he would toss in his hat for speaker should Dems take the majority.
His answer: "Abso-f*cking-lutely not."

Texans voted for change tonight, and they deserve a Speaker who will put their interests first.
Dean Thompson has dedicated her life to public service, and no one understands this institution or the responsibility that comes with leading it better than she does.
She has the experience, the relationships, and the trust of her colleagues to bring this House together and get things done.
I am proud to support Dean Thompson for Speaker as we begin this historic new chapter for Texas.

Someone said we would flip the #txlege during #tribfest.
That someone was me.

Against all odds, with almost no one outside of my family, friends, and closest team members believing it was possible - the woman who wrote the tweet below and started this journey by Googling “how to run for office in Texas,” has flipped an 18 pt Republican seat to become the next Texas State Representative for House District 132.
This is OUR home, and together, we did indeed take it back.
From my day one promise: Zero outside influence. Zero corporate PAC money. Zero values compromised. Just neighbors talking to neighbors and working together to fight for our community.
Of the PEOPLE.
By the PEOPLE.
For the PEOPLE.
PERIOD.
Tomorrow, we sleep. Thursday, we get to work.
Congrats to @jamestalarico! Historic win, for all Texans! Let’s go! #txlege

Tonight, we made history!
The people of House District 118 have spoken, and I am honored to announce that we have won this race!
I will be the first woman and first Latina to represent HD-118 in the Texas House.
I grew up on the Southside. This community raised me, and now I have the honor of representing it in Austin.
This victory belongs to all of us. Thank you, HD-118! Let’s get to work!
Great to support @VikkiGoodwinTX for Lt. Gov. & @dexterlmccoy for Ft. Bend Co. Judge tonight! Tomorrow, we get out the vote! Let’s do this, Texas! #txlege
