Au Sénégal, Giga et l’UNICEF accompagnent le Ministère de l’Éducation nationale pour renforcer la connectivité scolaire.
La mission porte sur l’identification des écoles à connecter, le suivi de la qualité de l’accès à Internet, l’utilisation du Giga Meter et des visites de terrain pour confronter les données disponibles aux réalités du terrain.
Un pas important vers un accès plus équitable aux outils numériques pour les élèves et les enseignants.

What if one of the biggest barriers to connecting schools to the internet is simply not knowing where they are?
Using AI and satellite imagery, our team trains models on known school locations to identify the unique characteristics of school campuses from above, which then helps the AI predict where other schools are located across an entire country.
We're grateful to the Ministère de l'éducation nationale et de la formation professionnelle (MENFOP) for the collaboration to validate the schools and make a fully validated map for the country possible.
