Here’s one example of how gutting OpenAI’s release of hundreds of solved math problems was for mathematicians. A powerful piece from Cornell math professor @stevenstrogatz theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

Incredible to do this after days of conservatives saying that Obama’s Cheesecake Factory joke shows that he’s an elitist who hates Middle America. Beginning to think he’s got a huge Kalshi bet on Dems taking the Senate.
Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

This isn’t supposed to be Bernie Sanders’s busy season, but he’s more in-demand as a surrogate during the general election than ever before. My piece on the senator who’s peaking at 85: theatlantic.com/politics/202…

This is essentially Trump doing DEI.
Trump: I looked at one hell of a beautiful ass before, Nicki Minaj. That's hard to miss.

🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me. The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated. Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS. Voters who Googled how to donate to Talarico got an AI answer that led them to give to someone else. A network of fake news sites seeded messaging about state and local candidates that AI answers picked up on. My story on how the AI midterms are going: theatlantic.com/technology/2…

McMorrow’s already tweeted about this but she definitely got screwed by this hoax pollster. Check the original replies on the tweet!
Wedgewood was one of the "pollsters" that @AbdulElSayed leaned on to push back on criticisms that he was less electable in a general election-->

I was waiting for new Trump to find some recurring characters to replace Sleepy Joe and Shifty Schiff this campaign season, but I confess I never expected one of them to be . . . Ohio senator Jon Husted's ass. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…
Trump on Jon Husted: "I'm studying his body. I've never studied the body of a man before. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it, of course. But it's never been my thing. But I looked at his ass. I said, 'His ass, shit, it's like a pile of muscle.' Then I looked at his legs and I said, 'Man, his feet are big.'"

I wrote about the Cornell story (link in thread) and I think it's worth noting that the university conducted a very thorough Title IX investigation, interviewing witnesses as well as the accused, and reviewing the Snapchat thread. We don't just have Doe's lawsuit to go on.

The legal Q is a matter for the New York justice system. But the ethics are clear: Doe was a lone woman surrounded by multiple men, in their frat house. What happened was wrong. One of the accused even said later that "it got way out of hand" and he should have "shut it down".
