We reject: kings, presidents, and voting.
We believe in: rough consensus and running code.

Build more housing. Pretty simple.
In his first presser as Governor-elect, @XavierBecerra appears with Senate Pro Tem @MoniqueLimonCA & Asm Speaker @RobertRivas_CA, where they note voters’ “clear mandate” on affordability as the priority, but offer no specifics on their policy proposals to address these issues.

More control in the kitchen, at the table, and across your businesses. Nine new features start going live next week:
→ Drag a kitchen ticket to the top of the screen so it gets made next
→ Fire held courses right from the Expo screen, with a countdown to cancel a mis-tap
→ Run more than one business? Switch between them from any page in Dashboard
→ Seat a party in Resy Powered by Tock and the check opens with the guest name, table, and server already on it

Lots more cooking for Afterpay
Another bunch of updates rolling into the @AfterpayUSA app.
We’ve been rebuilding the entire app. Shop tab was first, now we’re tackling orders, repayments, gift cards and everything in between.

Can confirm building is very fun at @blocks right now…
Block's @RagavanThurair says Jack Dorsey still operates like a startup founder, personally diving into AI model architecture and pushing his team to "build the crazy thing":
"@jack takes huge risks, and he's quite visionary. We work directly with him."
"He still has this founder attitude of, we should build the crazy thing, we shouldn’t shy away from it, we should take more risks."
"I don't know how he manages all of this stuff, cause Block is a big company. And still he has time to literally deep dive into the architecture of the model with us."

audio in, audio out
Block trained its new voice AI entirely on speech, without using any text.
Dessa lead @RagavanThurair says even his team didn't expect it to develop such strong language understanding:
"It's trained entirely on speech, which is crazy. This company's training it just on speech, they have less data, it's a lot harder, how the hell are they gonna learn language like that? But somehow ours ended up better."
"I thought we would have to have text to get to this level of conversation understanding. We didn't expect it would learn language this good."
"People have done this before, like GSLM and Hertz-dev. The big gap is ours has a really strong understanding of language and you can actually have a realistic conversation with it."

Block's @RagavanThurair tested AI voice models by making sounds of pain. They thought he was stretching or waking up.
He warns that this could become a serious safety problem as AI-powered robots gain more autonomy:
"I tried to make sounds of pain. I had this experience recently where my toddler stepped on a sensitive part of my body, and I couldn't say words. All I could do is make sounds of pain. Imagine a Unitree robot steps on me the same way. I can’t say words to say, get off of me."
"These models fail at that. It's like, oh, it sounds like you're stretching. Did you just wake up? It doesn't understand crying and things like that. There's a reason why we can hear emotion in voice."
"I think it's actually a huge safety issue as well. These AI models are taking more and more control of things."
"They're extremely smart, but if they don’t understand what we actually want or what we're trying to communicate, they can end up doing things we don't want."

Now we'll finally learn what's in the Epstein files. Mike Johnson is no longer in a position to shut down the House in order to prevent votes on measures to force their release. It's time. It's past time.
