We built a new type of datacenter for AI inference. We call it NanoDC. NanoDC is a solar-powered autonomous datacenter that can be deployed anywhere on the planet in 4 weeks. 11 Trillion will be invested in AI compute over the next 4 years. Most of this will be for inference and most of it will be severely delayed: stuck in grid interconnect queues, site permits, or supply chain issues. NanoDC sidesteps these issues completely. NanoDC is built rapidly at a factory and shipped to the site ready to be turned on in 30 minutes. It generates its own power with solar and batteries. You open the door and the solar panels fold-out like an accordion. The compute is cooled with patent-pending high-density air cooling. It connects to the internet via Starlink. No construction. No grid interconnect. No Water supply. It never waits for transformers and turbine generators either. Getting more compute is as easy as dropping more units and turning them on. The first units will be live this month. Thousands will be shipping starting 2027. Sunlight in. Tokens out.

sam: local inference is a terrible allocation of scarce resources โ€œa lot of people want local inference, and somehow they assume that the problem is solved now because we have open-source models, we're going to be able to run them on our computers, and so we're not going to need all the stuff in the data centre but from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer and being used five percent of the time you want maximum utilisation in the cloud if you're trying to deal with this very supply-constrained environment somehow many people's intuition is the opposite of thatโ€

LET ADULTS BUY ZYN! California allows ZYN Smooth and Original but bans cinnamon, citrus, peppermint, and other flavors. Why? These flavors are all FDA-authorized, just the same! My Office of Fun and Freedom will eliminate this pointless, killjoy rule and let adults make decisions for themselves. You suggested it. We'll make it happen. You just have to VOTE for it.

BREAKING: The largest county in America by land area is deploying autonomous drones to fight wildfires. @Seneca_Systems has secured a deal with San Bernardino County Fire to deploy five autonomous firefighting drones, a mobile operations base, and autonomy software designed to rapidly suppress newly detected wildfires before they spread. The five-drone strike team can deliver over 500 gallons of finished firefighting foam, with a single pilot supervising multiple aircraft. The system is designed for rapid response, including nighttime operations and difficult-to-access terrain. San Bernardino County Fire Chief Dan Munsey has set an ambitious goal to stop 90% of fires before they grow beyond 10 square feet, with Seneca's autonomous rapid initial attack capabilities potentially playing a key role. The drones are expected to enter service ahead of the 2027 wildfire season.

RIP Patrick Stewart. I will never forget watching @StarTrek TNG as a kid. Role model and deep inspiration for many techno-optimists. Make it so.

PCBs made in America. Twice as fast as Shenzhen. Today @CircuitHub is unveiling The Grid, our factory-scale robot in Massachusetts that builds circuit boards on demand. No changeovers, no per-design setup. Prototypes and production batches, fully automated.

10/10 event organizer
Looking at hosting more events through out the country due to the success of our hardtech meetup in SF. We had over 80+ founders/VCs come; many YC founders as well as @a16z and @sequoia presence. Currently have opportunities to host in DC, FL, SF and NYC coming up with sponsorships now. Anyone interested in hosting/sponsoring a hardtech/defense meetup in their city? Purpose? Meet some cool people in hardtech/defense and host a fun party/event. I have been hosting events at mansions, yachts and (most recently) a robot fighting arena. What I provide: I'll bring everyone together and ensure everything goes smoothly on time. Everything else can be figured out if I have a venue/interested sponsors in a popular city. Comment on this post/shoot me a DM and we'll figure out dates.

love this. Generative is so compelling clear upside, but we shouldn't sleep on predictive AI.
JUST IN: Tractian raised $130M at a $1.4B valuation to build sensors that warn factories before their machines break down. Its sensors attach to industrial equipment, tracking vibration, ultrasound, and other signals to detect problems early. -AI identifies faults and recommends fixes -Trained on a massive industrial failure dataset -Used in 2,000+ facilities worldwide -Customers include Coca-Cola, Whirlpool, and Eli Lilly -Also monitors data centers and critical infrastructure Unplanned downtime costs the worldโ€™s 500 largest industrial companies an estimated $1.4 trillion annually.

Peter Thiel has a blunt test for whether a startup team is thinking clearly. Watch how they talk about their own outcomes. His observation: when founders start framing results as luck โ€” "maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, so let's just invest a little and see" โ€” that's not prudent risk management. That's a diagnostic failure. The mechanism is specific. Luck-framing doesn't emerge from humility. It emerges from not having done the analytical work to understand *why* your business will win. If you've truly mapped the competitive dynamics, the customer psychology, the timing โ€” you don't describe the outcome as a coin flip. You describe what needs to be true and why. The portfolio mindset ("let's see what happens") is what you default to when you don't have conviction built on evidence. Thiel's sharpest version of this: the founders of Google, Amazon, and Apple in their early days weren't operating on hope. They had specific theories about why they would win that others couldn't see yet. Bezos mapped out why e-commerce would scale through selection and logistics before the market existed. That's not luck-denial โ€” that's rigorous foresight presented as conviction. When a founding team tells you "we'll figure it out," the question isn't whether they're optimistic. It's whether they can articulate the actual mechanism of their advantage. If they can't, the luck framing isn't a personality trait. It's a capability gap. Blaming luck is what you do when you've stopped thinking.

There is nothing to worry about. Nothing important is run on PHP or old softwareโ€”except the water & electrical grid, a few government services like our missile defense systems and a handful of electrified fences at the zoo (for the lions, tigers and cobras).

I am so sold on @REK. Robot fights are going to be bigger than all sports in this country. Real Steel is here. Imagine teams all around the US building robots for combat?? It will be the F1 of UFC. And no one else in the US is doing this right now. This is probably the craziest part of this. Everyone is sleeping on this.
First time seeing a robot fight live. Two @engineairobot T800s on stage. This will be a new category of entertainment. The vibes are unmatched. Thanks @REK for putting this on, and thanks @edgarpavlovsky @jjkaplowitz @barrett_io etc for hosting.
