Can't recall public statement like this ever about a leak investigation in midstream
NEW: On background from a War Department official:
Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.
Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.
Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.

RIP Manhattan federal Judge Alvin Hellerstein, the dapper jurist pictured here on the steps of the Southern District of New York courthouse during the total solar eclipse in April 2024.
New: Court sources confirm that Alvin Hellerstein, the federal judge assigned to Nicolás Maduro’s drug trafficking case, died on Wednesday.
He was 92 years old, appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1998.

Avoid studying in China? FBI battles US student fears over security clearances
If this was true, wouldn't there be a report to that effect in DOJ files and a report to Congress? I believe DOJ regulations require that.
Special Counsel Durham planned to indict Marc Elias for his participation in the anti-Trump Conspiracy.
Lisa Monacoand Maggie Goodlander, who ran the “Biden” DOJ stopped the prosecutions.
AG Blanche ought to:
-immediately indict Elias, there is more than enough evidence
-open an investigation into obstruction of justice by the Obama/Hillary crew

The SPLC alleges DOJ’s star witness, informant F-9, is being treated like a member of the trial team. Armed with an immunity deal, he has provided troves of documents and intelligence briefings cbsnews.com/news/southern-po…
As DOJ regs note: "the charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty."
Today, a federal grand jury began returning indictments against noncitizens registered to vote in California.
Three Los Angeles County noncitizens were indicted on federal election fraud charges:
Sulema De Leon, a Mexican national, illegally registered in 2013, voted in 2020, and falsely denied claiming U.S. citizenship.
Butleng Taing, a Cambodian national, illegally registered in 2021, voted in 2022 and 2024, and falsely denied prior citizenship claims.
Rouzbeh Seyamaknejad, a Canadian national, illegally registered in 2018 and falsely denied claiming U.S. citizenship.
Every illegal vote by a noncitizen cancels out an American citizen’s lawful vote. Election integrity is nonnegotiable. We will hold accountable anyone who unlawfully participates in our elections and those who aid them.

The irony about the Dan Sullivan situation is that #AKsen is the one race where it doesn't have to matter! Voters can rank the Dans Sullivan 1st and 2nd and that solves the problem.

It’s not illegal unless there are campaign finance violations involved, like in the case of an ex-Florida lawmaker convicted of paying a man named Alex Rodriguez to be a “ghost candidate” & siphon votes from Democrat Jose Javier Rodriguez, who lost in 2020 by 32 votes

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."
UPDATE: Trump admin has just appealed Judge Carter's denial of the TRO in CA suspected foreigner ballot fight to the 9th Circuit. So we are headed for a 2nd round there, after circuit rejected earlier preemptive appeal

I am writing this without consulting my lawyer because it is the right thing to do, regardless of the legal implications. In early August, I made a terrible mistake by claiming that Byron Donalds and Cory Mills were under federal investigation. I received this information from someone I trusted, but I accept the DOJ’s public statement that neither man is under investigation, which means that I bore false witness.
As a Catholic, I take the Ten Commandments seriously. After speaking with my priest and going to confession, I have a moral obligation to publicly retract my statement and apologize.
I apologize to Byron, Cory, and their families for what I said.
To be clear, neither man nor their lawyers asked me to write this, and neither has ever contacted me about it.
I sinned against my fellow man, and I am sorry. I ask God for forgiveness and pray that I can make amends.
