In a crushing election cycle for Republicans across the country, Florida is a stalwart of victory.
Every statewide candidate Gov @RonDeSantis endorsed beat their Democrat opponent outside of recount margins. Governor, Attorney General, Ag Commissioner, CFO, and U.S. Senator.
On top of that, the constitutional amendment he championed for property-tax overhaul—hotly contested by special interest groups and local governments—passed well over the required 60% threshold. This is a generational victory for tax reform that will make Florida the envy of the nation.
Many will now see what we in Florida have long understood: Voters trust him.
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
Obviously tonight is and should be about the winning candidates.
But it does deserve mentioning that this new Red Florida we love to call home, the version that still held firm even in the strongest political headwinds AND passed Amendment 3 against all odds, is the house that @RonDeSantis built.
We can’t thank him enough.

Commissioner Mike Yaworsky is approving an average -12.8% rate decrease for more than 120,000 rental insurance policies that will be effective this MONTH!
Commissioner Yaworsky said, “The Office of Insurance Regulation is approving major rate decreases across the board, including decreases in insurance for our Florida renters. We are working hard to get rates down for all policies and we will continue to reach out to companies and ask them to do more. Stay tuned!”

I have been made aware that the Florida Policy Institute (@FloridaPolicy)—a group that purports to be “nonpartisan”—takes issue with the Governor’s property tax plan. This group also:
❌ opposed Florida’s historic school-choice legislation
❌ opposed Florida’s first-in-the-nation restrictions on gender-reassignment surgeries and hormone treatments for minors
❌ advocated that Florida expand its Medicaid program to cover working-age, able-bodied adults
As with those important issues, they are on the wrong side of history when it comes to property taxes. We are over the target.

Senator Gaetz is exactly right. Property taxes function essentially as an unrelenting rent paid to the government, making true homeownership impossible.
A man’s home is his castle—an idea that undergirds many freedoms fundamental to Americans. But if a man can lose his home for not paying the government rent, homeownership is an illusion.
Floridians deserve to own their homes, period.

Conservatives have always believed that individuals are far better at spending their own money than the government.
Local budgets have ballooned since 2019, yet the same core services remain.
