The Gray’s monitor, also known as the Butaan, is an extremely rare monitor lizard that was believed to be extinct until its rediscovery in the 1980s. The L.A. Zoo is a pioneer in breeding and caring for this reptile, which can be seen inside the Zoo’s LAIR.
This weekend is your last chance to participate in the Beloved Pets Ofrenda. The ofrenda will be up thru Monday, Nov. 2, in observance of Día de los Muertos.
