Brandon Roy says if he could redo his NBA career, he would spend less time playing basketball and more time preparing his body to withstand it:
“The one thing that I would have changed was how I prepared. I always wanted to go and prepare as far as playing basketball.”
“I would have put more time into what a lot of younger guys do really well. Sometimes you go to the gym and you don’t hoop. You just do a lot of stretching, lifting. I would have really focused on that area of it.”
“We weren’t used to putting that much effort into something. The research and the effort that they brought to us, we weren’t into it. It was like, ‘That’s just not what we do.’”
“If you go back to the era before us, it’s like, ‘Man, all that rehab stuff, just let’s hoop.’”
“Focus on your body. Look for your body to be able to play until it’s 40. Whatever it takes, be into it. Be into nutrition. You should be able to teach strength and conditioning by the time you’re 30 years old.”
“I tried to really adapt to how their coach was going to think, what their scout was going to say about me. I should have done more of that in taking care of my body.”
“I started to do it once I had more injuries. I started to try to catch up, but by then it sometimes just feels like it’s too late. I wish I’d come in a little bit more ahead of the curve in taking care of my body.”

Imagine being a driver in Charlotte & getting hit by a car that's so ridiculous looking, you immediately know "Welp, I guess I just got in an accident with Lamelo"
BREAKING: LaMelo Ball involved in crash in Uptown Charlotte.
Photos provided to me show LaMelo getting out of the driver's seat. But CMPD hasn't said who was driving and how this crash happened. Another car was involved. Medic says one person has minor injuries. We don't know who this person is.
More information to come. Chopper 9 is overhead

I can’t stop thinking of that draft day trade Joe Dumars made.
0-6 start when you have ZERO picks in the draft!
Every team should do this IMO. Makes the game feel bigger, like it's on a stage.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced the installation of the brand-new stage lighting system at Target Center
“The new lighting system creates a dramatic, theater-style atmosphere spotlighting the on-court action. The result is a more intense and focused viewing experience that puts the game front and center like never before.”
