Would Cowboys owner Jerry Jones bring Troy Aikman into the organization in a significant front office role?
Jerry on @1053SS, @rjchoppy and @BobbyBeltTX:
“Yes, I could and would. It’s that simple because I do think that much of him with his basic command and knowledge of NFL football. He's certainly qualified to do anything mentioned. … He's outstanding. The answer is not necessarily that we're going to do anything more direct with the team at this time, but don’t rule it out. It is very possible.”

Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones says on @1053thefan that he "could and would" bring Troy Aikman in for a role with the Cowboys organization in the future.
"It's that simple because I do think that much of him with his basic command and understanding and knowledge of NFL football. He's certainly as qualified to do any of the things that have been mentioned. I think he's outstanding at what he focuses on right now, and that's giving the story and the narration of football games, of all times. So let me make it real clear: Troy Aikman is, first of all, just getting started in his life. I don't know of anyone that's played, or any part of football, that has had any more success off the field than Troy. He is a successful guy because he is one of the hardest working, most focused people that I've ever been around. Now, when you're around each other, a part of that make up can make it where you can have your ups and downs. But I think the world of him. I've seen his image and and had it in my eyes since I walked in the NFL. He's outstanding. The answer is not that necessarily we're going to do something more direct with the team at this time, but don't rule it out, it's very possible."

Troy Aikman postgame when asked if the Cowboys’ win Monday night in Philadelphia changes the way he sees the team: “Eh, not really. Not really. And I don’t mean that as a negative. I mean, this is a beat-up Philadelphia team. To come in here and win tonight, I mean, let’s not get carried away. They kind of did what you would expect them to do.”

Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones on @1053thefan when asked if he feels he needs to make another move to add to Dallas' defense:
"If we could do it where we sit right now, I would add to it. But the adding to it is a big statement. It's unlikely we'll get the opportunity from outside coming in. But if it's there, I'll do it."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan: “The defense is really not where we expected it to be. But we can win, and we can get to where we want to go, with that offensive side of the ball.
“… We have an outstanding offensive play caller in our head coach. And that’s our strength. … I’m looking at personnel and it’s strong.
“It is evolving (defensively). Probably we were all too ambitious to think that you could have better results than you’re talking about.
“In my mind, we can win it with this combination and a significant but not unattainable defensive progress.”

After being called out by Brian Schottenheimer for his run blocking, George Pickens played 12 total snaps fewer than Ryan Flournoy, the vast majority of which came in run situations.
Pickens played 13 run snaps compared to 28 for Flournoy and 27 for Lamb.
Schotty was very brief with his comments last night. @WerderEdNFL and I were not.

Cowboys CB defensive snap count vs. Eagles:
DaRon Bland - 58
Caleb Downs - 56 (49 at nickel, 7 at safety)
Joey Porter Jr. - 51
Cobie Durant - 24
Shavon Revel Jr. - 8
I’d imagine the rotation to look like this when everyone is fully healthy.

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer was very short with his postgame responses. The entire news conference was about 4 minutes. They’re usually at least 10. Asked if everything was OK, he responded: “I’m great. Excited for our guys.”
