Apparently, this therapist taught a class for many years in Houston about how to have a long and lasting relationship. She also told me I must be a lesbian because I had fallen in love with a man who had this so-called inner feminine side. I didn’t know anything about that, except that he borrowed my bra on a business trip, or I caught him applying nails or shaving a couple of times. I didn’t buy into the idea that he had an inner female side he needed to express to relax. For that, I was close-minded and must be a lesbian because I fell in love with him and married him. Michael Knowles: There is so much to unpack, even in the premise of what a lesbian would be. But you gave a simpler explanation earlier. You say you walked in on your husband cross-dressing and that he was aroused. You say he blamed you for this. Now, people would say he’s secretly a woman. But it would appear to me that you got the answer: it’s a sexual fetish. He was aroused by the thought of being a woman or wearing women’s clothing. It’s a kind of base sexual desire. Tracy Shannon: Right. I always felt instinctively that it was a type of infidelity. There was this elusive other woman he was creating to spend time alone with, and it was hampering our intimacy in our marriage. But it’s even worse. This particular therapist you asked about? She’s now written a book to help parents transition their children. Michael Knowles: You’ve gone through this personally and with such trauma. You go to counseling, and this woman takes your husband’s side and says you have to be open-minded and let him go out dressed in high heels, have his own PO box, and basically choose his sexual fetish over your marriage. Then what? Tracy Shannon: It’s worse than that. She actually wrote him the letter to transition while we were married. We were married for 15 years, and this happened in the fourth year. He then got on hormone therapy and started to develop little breasts while we were married. I was told the breast development was because he was taking OCD medication to help him not want to cross-dress. I felt sorry for him. He was developing breast buds that embarrassed him, and he would wear a T-shirt when we went to the public swimming pool with our kids. I was trying to be a loving wife. I feel very deceived that he was having this lesbian fantasy and growing these breasts while we were married and having intimate relations. I think that totally undermines the idea of consent that is so popularized by the left, especially when they’re talking about our kids.
