As the entertainment industry evolves, changing audience behaviours and the rise of new platforms are reshaping traditional content distribution models.
At @fameweekafrica , Isabelle Pain, Head of Global TV & Film Acquisitions for STUDIOCANAL & Global Content Strategy at CANAL+, explores the decline of traditional distribution and the shift towards more diverse approaches to funding, licensing and distributing content.
The session will unpack the decline of single-buyer licensing models, multi-window distribution, rights stacking, platform-first releases and creator-owned licensing cycles, drawing on documentary case studies. It will also examine the growing importance of flexible rights and multi-licensing strategies, evolving monetisation models, and why YouTube is increasingly becoming a default distribution platform in a fragmented content landscape.

Storytelling takes passion, talent, sacrifice, and thousands of people working behind the scenes to bring powerful moments to life.
This Africa Month, we celebrate the power of African stories and the creators who bring them to the world. In collaboration with Partners Against Piracy, the talented cohort from the MultiChoice Talent Factory used their creativity to shine a light on the real impact of piracy - from lost opportunities in the creative industry to the risks it poses to consumers.
Featuring Teko Modise, Pabi Cooper, and Nelisiwe Sibiya, this powerful campaign reminds us that every legal view helps protect the future of African storytelling, sport, film, television, and entertainment.
Support what you love, protect the creative community, and say no to piracy.
This Africa Month, we're celebrating the coming together of this continent. Celebrating our one-ness, our diversity, our culture and the richness of our stories.
We celebrate and recognise that Africa is, because of her people. From the bustling streets of Mombasa to the peaks of Kilimanjaro. From the depths of the Masai Mara to the depth of Cape Town.
And as we celebrate today, let us celebrate our stories and the people who bring them together
Happy Africa Day.
