In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Commissioner Yesenia Mata, and Deputy Mayor Helen Arteaga for Health and Human Services, along with her Senior Advisor Gabriela Mayorga made the time to get their mammograms together, building on the Deputy Mayor’s effort to encourage the women around her to prioritize their own health with the same care they give to everyone else.
Their visit to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in Queens was a reminder of the importance of preventive care, early detection, and looking out for one another.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we remind NYC Veterans and their families to do the same. Stay current on recommended screenings, know your risk factors, and keep up with the health information and resources available to you.
