Overlayer Update | Binance Incident
First and foremost: Overlayer funds are safe.
Following the Binance security incident, Aave has temporarily frozen new deposits and borrowing across its markets. Here's how this affects Overlayer:
1. MINT - Operational
Overlayer separates minting from supplying underlying stablecoins to Aave, users can continue minting Overlaid Assets without interruption.
2. REDEEM - Operational
Aave withdrawals remain enabled, so users can continue redeeming Overlaid Assets for their underlying stablecoins.
3. STAKE & UNSTAKE - Temporarily Affected
Both operations trigger compound(), which requires supplying accrued rewards to Aave before users enter or exit staking. This ensures fair reward accounting.
Until Aave reopens deposits, these operations remain temporarily unavailable.
4. STAKING YIELD - Potential Upside
Aave’s deposit freeze may drive lending rates higher, with Overyield further amplifying returns for Overlayer stakers.
We continue monitoring Aave and will provide updates as normal operations resume.
