In this episode of Palestine Deep Dive, Irish journalist and commentator Barry Malone and American writer Benjamin Moser, author of Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History, join host Ahmed Alnaouq for a wide-ranging discussion on Zionism, anti-Zionism, media complicity and the language shaping public debate around Israel and Palestine.
Drawing on the history of Jewish opposition to Zionism, the conversation explores Britain’s role in the Zionist movement, the politics of antisemitism and the silencing of dissent. They also examine the Green Party’s recent adoption of its “Zionism is Racism” motion and the debate it has sparked.
With Israeli elections bringing renewed attention to Benjamin Netanyahu, the discussion also addresses whether a change of prime minister would address the deeper questions of Palestinian self-determination and equal rights.

Nadia Fires Back at ITV: “You Made My Voice Louder”
On this episode of Palestine Deep Dive, we sit down with Nadia Sawalha, former Loose Women presenter, and her husband Mark Adderley, filmmaker and Green Party councillor, to discuss the price of speaking out, the power of the media, and the growing culture of fear surrounding Palestine in Britain. We also discuss the Green Party’s “Zionism is Racism” motion.
Nadia is pursuing legal action against ITV via the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC), alleging discrimination and harassment linked to her anti-Zionist beliefs. Mark has fought his own battles, winning a defamation case against the Daily Mail over articles about him, and facing suspension from the Green Party before his reinstatement.

“Different Leaders, Same Outcome”
Speaking to Palestine Deep Dive, Benjamin Moser, American writer and author of Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History, and Irish journalist and commentator Barry Malone question whether the country’s political alternatives offer any meaningful difference on Gaza.
They challenge the media’s portrayal of the political contest as an existential choice, arguing that both sides support the continuation of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the broader oppression of Palestinians, differing more in their approach than in their underlying policies.
Tune in tonight 7 PM GMT on Palestine Deep Dive’s YouTube channel and all podcast platforms for a wide-ranging conversation looking at Zionism and anti-Zionism past and present.

Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, presented her latest report, Truth Under the Rubble: Media in the Time of Genocide, to the UN General Assembly yesterday.
The report examines what she describes as “mediacide”, the systematic destruction of the media’s public function, and calls for greater protection of journalists, the preservation of evidence and stronger media accountability.
Albanese identifies three interconnected concerns: the killing, detention and intimidation of Palestinian journalists; censorship, propaganda and incitement within Israel’s information environment; and the role of influential Western media outlets and digital platforms in marginalising Palestinian voices and reproducing narratives that obscure or legitimise atrocities in Gaza.
Speaking to Palestine Deep Dive, she argues that silencing journalists and distorting public understanding is “part and parcel of a collection of crimes sustained by a destructive intent”.
@FranceskAlbs
The Green Party of England and Wales voted to adopt a motion declaring Zionism a form of racism and calling for Palestinian liberation and a single democratic state with justice and equality for all. It is the first mainstream UK party to take that position.
But in almost all of the coverage that followed, one group has been strikingly absent from the conversation: Palestinians.
At Palestine Deep Dive, we host a roundtable of Palestinians to discuss the ideology that has shaped every part of their lives. We ask: What is Zionism? And why do we believe it to be racist?
Ahmed Alnaouq speaks to Hala Hanina, Shahd Hammouri and Hazem Jamjoum in a wide-ranging conversation about the history, ideology and politics surrounding Palestine; from the Balfour Declaration to Gaza and from Christian Zionism to British politics.

"We are Witnessing the Israelisation of Our Societies"
In this difficult and unflinching conversation, Palestine Deep Dive's Jehan Alfarra and Ahmed Alnaouq are joined by Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, and Eyal Weizman, founder of Forensic Architecture, to examine the destruction of Gaza, the silencing of Palestinian journalists, and the growing struggle to hold those responsible to account.
Francesca Albanese discusses her report A Truth Under the Rubble, exploring the targeting of Palestinian journalists, the suppression of information, and the role of international media in shaping narratives about Israel’s war on Gaza. She explains why the destruction of evidence, the killing of witnesses, and the removal of physical traces raise profound questions about accountability and the international community’s obligations.
Eyal Weizman, author of Ungrounding: The Architecture of Genocide, examines how the transformation of Gaza’s landscape threatens not only physical evidence but also Palestinian memory, identity, and the possibility of return. Through the work of Forensic Architecture, he explores how satellite imagery, witness testimony, and the built environment can help reconstruct what has happened, even as the landscape itself is being erased.
The conversation also tackles the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Criminal Court (ICC), US sanctions against international justice officials, arms transfers, and the responsibilities of governments under international law and the Genocide Convention.
