Wishing a very happy 34th birthday to Tua! 🥳
Here are some of our favorite photos of her and baby Jambi together. Sumatran orangutan mothers are very attentive to their young, raising them until they are approximately 7 to 10 years old.
It's time for a training session with our male Andean bear, Turbo! 🐻 At the all-new Carey Bear Country, you can get *this* close to our bears while our animal care team works with them. Training sessions are part of our enrichment program, keeping our animals active and engaged.
It's TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME 🌟
LumiNature presented by @PNCBank opens Thursday 11/19 with an all-new interactive adventure! Follow the animals' holiday wishes through 14 enchanting stops and bring your Zoo Key to unlock surprises! 🐾

... HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃 And Happy Bat Week! 🦇
Bats play a critical role in their ecosystems. Fuit bats (like this Rodrigues fruit bat here at Philly Zoo) are incredibly important pollinators. Without them, many fruits and plants, like mangoes and agave, couldn't grow!
Lucian the Coquerel's sifaka racing over to celebrate World Lemur Day! 🏃💨 Lemurs are only found in Madagascar and are considered the world’s most endangered group of mammals. Visit us and learn more about four lemur species that call the Zoo home!

Check this out — an animal you can see right through! 👀🐸
Glass frogs get their name from their translucent skin. While resting on leaves, they become even more transparent, helping them better camouflage. From underneath you can see their organs!
Snack time for the squiggly snoots! (also known as giant elephant shrews)💛
Giant elephant shrews are foragers, always searching for insects to eat. At the Zoo, they munch on mealworms and crickets!
They grow up so fast 🥲 🥹
As we've known since they first came out of their shells, some of our famous Galapagos tortoise hatchlings are moving to another @zoos_aquariums accredited facility. 1/6
Eight of our hatchlings, Caldero, Colette, Fausto, Isabelle, James, Lee, Roger, and Soledad are headed off for their next chapter at @GladysPorterZoo in Brownsville, Texas. Blanche, Dorothy, Rose, Sophia, Big Dom, Neil, Watson and Zee and will remain in Philly. 5/6
Enjoy this beautiful tune from our white-handed gibbon family and celebrate International Gibbon Day! 🎶🎵
Gibbons often "sing" in the morning to communicate with their family and mark their territory to other neighboring groups.
Celebrating International Snow Leopard Day! 🐾 Check out Yuki's incredibly graceful hunting skills. Snow leopards are amazing jumpers and have been known to leap up to 40 feet!
What's happening at Boo at the Zoo this weekend? A whole lot of spooky fun! 👻 Don't miss out on trick-or-treating, costume contests on Impala Lawn (with a grand prize of a Zoo for 4 membership!) and even more activities only here for Boo at the Zoo.
