We need more people like @davidblumberg reminding Americans just how much we have to be optimistic about.
I just watched his conversation with @marissastreit on @prageru 's Real Talk , and I cannot recommend it highly enough. In a podcast world that pits everyone against each other, this hit different.
David is a wildly successful venture capitalist, but what impressed me most wasn't his business acumen. It was his infectious optimism, his intellectual curiosity, and his unmistakable pride in being an American.
While so many people are making a living convincing Americans that our best days are behind us, David makes a compelling case that some of our greatest opportunities are still ahead.
He explains why artificial intelligence could unleash extraordinary prosperity, why technological progress will create opportunities we can't yet imagine, and why breakthroughs in healthcare could dramatically improve human lives.
He makes the case for building the infrastructure America needs to lead the AI revolution rather than surrendering that leadership to China.
And importantly, he recognizes that technology alone isn't enough. Our children still need character, critical thinking, a strong work ethic, and a moral foundation.
But what I loved most was his attitude.
He's not blind to America's problems. He's simply unwilling to let those problems define America's future.
There's something deeply refreshing about listening to a man who has spent his life investing in innovation and genuinely believes in the ingenuity, ambition, and potential of the American people.
Patriotism isn't just loving America's past. It's believing in America's future.
David Blumberg clearly does.
Outstanding conversation. Everyone should watch this.

How does believing in UFOs make you feel about the government, science, and the broader universe? According to @michaelshermer, most UFO sightings have perfectly ordinary explanations, but there are still some that nobody can confidently identify. Will we ever find out? Watch: l.prageru.com/4iJjEzc
There is hope.
“It’s the only class I took at Harvard where people would call each other out for not having done the reading.”
Harvard students are lining up to take Hum 10:
“Applications (essays required) shot up 40% this fall with 180 incoming freshmen vying for 90 spots.”
“The class is definitely not for padding the GPA. Students read a hefty book a week and write regular essays. There is no pass/fail option. Digital devices are verboten, and attendance is taken in every lecture (pink slips for those who arrive late).”
“In their applications and in interviews, students expressed the urge to be forced to tackle classics they otherwise wouldn’t read, the need to combat frayed attention spans and the desire for an antidote to The Machine. Several mentioned with disdain that people who aren’t in the class wondered why they didn’t ‘just Chat the books,’ i.e., use AI.”
They're worse for everything.
