Shelby of @ColorCasters and I are writing a business book from the work we actually do.
I’m bringing 40+ years in color, print, and running companies.
Not theory. The stuff that shows up when you’re trying to grow: customers, messy days, and keeping it simple.
I post about that here.
For the short version of who I am, start with @ColorCasters.
Oh, and I cruise too much.
It’s always fun when talking heads question the best manager in baseball who has won more games in a single season than any previous manager.
Maybe, just maybe clickbait rage tweets have run their course.
I agree with this for professional services in particular.
Our new lawyer sent a very small invoice for additional filing fees.
I paid it within 10 minutes of it hitting my inbox.
I was there later today to sign docs. He thanked me for the quick payment. It was $200.
People notice prompt payments.
🎯
I pay every invoice the day it comes in—not net 30, not on Friday, but that day. And anybody who tells me that’s bad cash management has never had the best guy in town pick up on the first ring.
Here’s what nobody tells you about paying slowly: You think you’re being smart by floating your money, but what you’re actually doing is training the best people in your life to answer somebody else’s call.
Every plumber, every lawyer, and every good contractor has a short list of clients they’ll drop everything for. The people on that list are the ones who never made them chase a check.
So when it’s Sunday, something happens to your pipes, and you need the one guy who’s actually good, you’re either on that list or you’re leaving a voicemail.
I’d rather lose 30 days of float than lose that phone call. Pay fast, man. It’s the cheapest loyalty you’ll ever buy.

My new SMB attorney (the guy I work with not the guy who owns the firm) has the very fancy LL.M. behind his name.
Don't worry lawtwt, I looked it up and now I get that he has an advanced degree beyond his J.D. which is good, because we are in the world of business transfer between states, taxes, accounting, blah, blah, blah.
Well, ya I cruise too much it’s in my bio silly. 😂😂😂😂

1. You cruise too much and their feed gets seasick.
2. All that color talk blinds the black-and-white crowd.
3. Biz book updates without the finished product.
4. Basecamp flexes make email addicts feel attacked.
5. Travel scrambled-brain posts hit too close to home.
It's a Tuesday that feels like a Monday. I've been traveling a lot for work and fun.
My brain is a little scrambled.
I once again skipped email completely, went to @basecamp where we set the agenda for the day.
Email is just a list of people people asking me for stuff and most of them not compensating me in anyway.
In basecamp, out little team keeps current on the tasks and projects that matter most to us and our success.
I'll circle back to email this afternoon, or not.
Hey all, big ask.
Prayers up for my cat lady friend @AnnaDsays
She and @BuckWilde_ could use all the positive mojo the X fam can generate.
And a prayer or two for @oh_ziggy is okay too, I guess. 😻
What’s actually the worst is this Dodgers Dorks not being able to simply sit back and watch the game of baseball played in a way they simply cannot comprehend.
Other Dodgers loyalists have happily admitted this is a unique and special team setting records. Did you watch the 7 hit 2 out rally last night? That was a World Series record.
So, be a poor loser if you must but try doing it while letting the Brewers fans enjoy a moment.
I don’t hate AirBnB.
I just believe it’s a business model that in no way fits how I travel.
I spend 150+ nights a year in hotels(for business) and on cruise ships(for fun).
I love the way big hospitality treats loyal travelers. @MarriottBonvoy is a great program as is @RoyalCaribbean Crown and Anchor society.
I’m sure for some folks AirBnB works, just not for me and I have tried.
Receipts attached.
For those following the move to Florida:
I knew my office space here would be different, but the first try in the guest bedroom didn’t quite cut it.
This is my new office along one wall of the dining area. The desk will be replace with one that matches the bookshelf and a second bookshelf will go to the right of the desk.
Best of all this window has the sunset views I share so often.
