Hi! RawGit is shutting down. Repos that served content through RawGit within the last month will continue to be served until 2019, but should migrate away as soon as possible. URLs for other repos are no longer being served. More details: rawgit.com

If you still rely on RawGit, now would be a very good time to investigate the many excellent alternatives. Probably won’t be able to keep the CDN up much longer.

The immediate danger is over and cdn.rawgit.com is now using CDN services provided by @jsDelivr. Eventually RawGit will start redirecting requests to jsDelivr itself, but I recommend switching your URLs to jsDelivr now if you can. Many thanks to @jimaek for the rescue!

Thanks also to MaxCDN/StackPath for providing hundreds of terabytes a month of free CDN service to RawGit for so many years. RawGit couldn’t have become what it was without that generosity. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is left as an exercise for the reader. 🤔

Yes. RawGit officially died October 1, 2019. It is currently undead. Assume that Buffy the Vampire Slayer could show up at any minute and turn it into dust without warning.

Our jsDelivr Bot is now scanning GitHub for broken @rawgit links and sending PRs with JsDelivr alternatives. Makes migration as easy as clicking the merge button 🙌

You can now request files from any GitHub branch without specifying a commit hash: cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/jsdelivr… If there are no releases cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/jsdelivr… serves the latest commit from master too. Our @rawgit migration tool has been updated as well: jsdelivr.com/rawgit 🎉

Many thanks to @jsDelivr for stepping up to help make it easier for RawGit users to migrate!
We are sad to see RawGit shut down but we made sure you can switch to jsDelivr as painlessly as possible. We made a tool for everyone to simplify the migration! Check it out here jsdelivr.com/rawgit

MaxCDN / StackPath’s Seattle point of presence appears to be having issues that are affecting cdn.rawgit.com and the RawGit homepage for users who get routed to that PoP. status.maxcdn.com/

Requests to StackPath’s Seattle PoP are still timing out. The good news is that if you get on a plane and fly in literally any direction, then cdn.rawgit.com will eventually start working again once you’re far enough from Seattle. Alternatively, you can keep waiting.

The problem appears to have been resolved. Good job everyone.

This is why we can’t have nice things. Security researchers, you do important work, but please don’t distribute web exploits via RawGit, even for demo purposes. It makes my life difficult, gets RawGit blocked for serving malware, etc. zdnet.com/article/nasty-piec…

You should use jsDelivr instead of RawGit.
We don't have a pretty chart but jsDelivr error rate for GitHub requests was 0.0369% during this period, compared to exactly 0 on the previous day. Looks like our failover works well enough 😅 jsdelivr.com/network/infogra…

Looks like GitHub’s having a rough time. Here are some pretty charts to entertain you while you wait for error rates to improve. xitter.gq/githubstatus/status/10…
We are investigating reports of elevated error rates.
GitHub requests have been failing intermittently over the past day or so, at times affecting up to 25% of RawGit requests. But that means 75% of requests are working fine, so I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.

Heads up: RawGit will undergo scheduled maintenance on 2018-02-26 between 18:00 and 19:00 UTC resulting in expected downtime of 15 minutes or less.
