🗿 Beyond Chain Boundaries: The Next Layer of DeFi
Stonfiers! Have you ever thought about what the next step in DeFi could look like — and whether it’s really about moving users between chains? What if, instead, those boundaries simply became invisible?
That was the question Andrey Fedorov, CMO & CBDO at STONfi Dev, explored at HSC Conference in Seoul, where he shared our perspective on the future of cross-chain infrastructure and DeFi.
Here are a few key ideas from the talk:
✨ Why do we need cross-chain swaps at all?
Different ecosystems have different strengths: TON brings distribution inside Telegram, TRON has strong stablecoin activity, and Ethereum offers deep liquidity and settlement. The opportunity is to connect these ecosystems — without asking users to navigate between them manually.
✨ What would a better cross-chain experience look like?
Instead of finding liquidity, moving assets, and then executing a transaction themselves, users could simply request an outcome. The infrastructure would source the liquidity and handle the execution in the background.
✨ How does Omniston fit into this model?
Omniston puts this approach into practice through a network of resolvers that compete to provide quotes, with native-to-native execution and atomic settlement ensuring that users receive what they approved — or the transaction reverts.
✨ What does the future of cross-chain look like?
Cross-chain execution becomes a capability built into financial products rather than a destination users have to navigate. Users, applications, and liquidity no longer need to exist in the same ecosystem — different networks can work together as one financial environment.
The future isn’t one chain. It’s one financial experience across many of them.
