The issue is not whether the church should become political. It is whether Christians will remain biblical when biblical truth has political consequences. Our calling is neither to become the mouthpiece of a party nor to retreat into silence. It is to stand on God’s word, defend what is right, confront what is wrong, and speak with courage — even when the culture would rather we remain silent. God's people cannot remain silent on matters God has clearly addressed, simply because those matters have been declared political. The issue is not whether the church should become political. It is whether Christians will remain biblical when biblical truth has political consequences. Pray. Vote. Stand.

The Democratic Socialists published a platform. “They want to abolish the border, abolish prisons, defund police, defund the Department of War... remove the president, pack the Supreme Court, trans surgeries for everyone... for minors without parental consent, [allow] men back in women's sports, everything that defies common sense." @SpeakerJohnson This Week on Capitol Hill

“I think we do have to give that a chance, a talk between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine to work this out. But I'm not entirely optimistic because every time we give Putin a chance for peace, he defies that.” @RepMcCaul on the proposed trilateral meeting in November.

American journalist Tucker Carlson and others have accused the Ukrainian government of persecuting Christians. @ZelenskyyUa's response (full transcript): "First of all, just to repeat, Tony, you've been in our country, and we are thankful again to you and your colleagues. And that's why we can very clearly and openly speak and understand each other. So because you saw by your eyes what's going on, Tucker Carlson and other such guys, they, I think they've never been. I mean, I think this man never been in Ukraine. How he can discuss what's going on in Ukraine? And to speak about the what's going on with the with religious people in Ukraine? We are very free. Yes, you know that we have the biggest council in Europe of religious institutions. We all work together. We have each month meetings in the presidential office. Or I can come to different of churches or different institutions. We always, together, discuss all the questions, all the problems, how to help, humanitarian aid. Also, if something has been destroyed or if somebody from religious representatives and leaders of churches have been tortured by Russians, or are in the prison, I came to them and I come to them. And we have this council, as I said, the biggest in Europe, and we manage all the problems. By the way, everybody together. Yes. Christians, Jewish people. Yes. We have a lot of Catholic churches. So, and we also, and also Muslims, all of us, we sit together in one room and manage all these problems and discuss. So that's why I think this man, Tucker, he doesn't know what's going on in Ukraine. But he can come and see what's going on. What was destroyed by Russia, and what is the attitude to different religions, different nationalities. We have a lot of also nationalities in Ukraine, and we live and stand together, and only together we can defend our country."

“This is good that we will have [the] opportunity to bring Russians to [negotiations]... We always support the idea to come to Emirates and of course we supported the proposition from [the] American side to have a trilateral meeting on the technical level.” @ZelenskyyUa

After the Israeli election, which party/leader is going to be able to form a coalition? “Presumably, with 53 seats, that will be Benjamin Netanyahu,” but opposition members have said they will not serve in a government with Netanyahu. --Chris Mitchell, @cbnnews This Week on Capitol Hill

Today is Reformation Day. Did you know? Martin Luther’s hymn, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God,” is based on Psalm 46. It is the victory anthem of the Reformation, declaring God as our unassailable refuge. Draw encouragement from the Reformers’ example today and keep standing on the Word!
