GRATITUDE: Dear runners, joggers, hashers, and walkers, on behalf of Team Matooke and the organizing committee, we would like to thank you so much for turning up in such large numbers for the Matooke City To City Marathon. Your presence, whether you came to conquer the full marathon, the half marathon, the 10km, or the 5km, or volunteered as a marshal, served at a hydration station, or helped at the venue, made the event colorful and memorable. The enthusiasm, energy and camaraderie exhibited by everyone truly set the tone for the day. We extend our sincere thanks to all the sponsors, well-wishers and service providers who supported the event financially or materially. We also thank the authorities who ensured we moved safely from one city to the other on such a busy road without any incidents. Your support made it easier for us to deliver an incredible event. But as we have always said, the real heroes were you the runners, joggers, and walkers. You answered our clarion call to come RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, woke up in the wee hours of the morning, brought your incredible energy to the trail, and stayed behind to share experiences in the true spirit of Team Matooke. Whatever your results, it was a celebration of who you have become and how far you have come in your fitness journey. It was especially inspiring to see many of you attempt your first full marathon at this event, which is a powerful affirmation of the trust you placed in us. Many thanks to the organizing team that put this together, led by past president Martin Makumbi. Without their efforts, expertise, and sacrifices, it would have been a daunting task to deliver an event of this nature. You certainly rewarded them with your presence on the route, making their long planning hours over the last three months completely worthwhile. Ffe tetumbanja! We do acknowledge that there were a few glitches before, during, and after the marathon. We sincerely apologize for them. As we take stock of the event and gather your candid feedback, these moments will form valuable lessons for our next edition.
