May 11 1992 - The @trailblazers defeated the host @Suns 153-151 in double-OT in Game 4 of the @WCSF series. It is the highest-scoring @NBA Playoff game ever. The 3-hour, 32-minute win gives the Blazers a 3-1 advantage as the teams head back to Portland for Game 5. "You couldn't ask for a better game than that." said #Suns coach #CottonFitzsimmons. Unless #Phoenix can force a Game 6, the Suns have played their last game at the #MadhouseonMcDowell, as the Suns will move into a new arena for the 1992/93 season. For only the 2nd time in @NBAHistory, both teams had 4 players score 20 points or more. The last game was in 1962 when the @DetroitPistons defeated the #CincinnatiRoyals. #KevinDuckworth connected on 4- FT in the final 43 seconds of the 2nd-OT, including 2 clutch ones with 10.7 seconds left to make the score 152-151. When Phoenix missed a shot with 2.3 seconds remaining, #TerryPorter rebounded and was fouled, making 1 FT to provide the final score. #ClydeDrexler scored 33 points and @terryporter30 added 31 to be the 4th set of #Blazers teammates to score 30 or more in a PO game. With @danielrainge scoring 25 points and #JeromeKersey adding 21 more, it is the 4th time 4 #Portland players topped 20 points in a PO game. Drexler added 11 assists and 8 rebounds and Porter passed for 14 assists, 1 shy of his PO career-best. April 26 1987 - #ClydeDrexler scored 32 points and @KikiVanDeWeghe added 22 more in leading the @trailblazers to a playoff win vs Rockets, tying the #WCFR series at a game each. @terryporter30 passed for 15 assists in addition to scoring 18 points. The #Blazers honored trainer #RonCulp, who announced he would be leaving the Blazers after 13 years with the team. Culp joined the Blazers in 1974, and witnessed the Blazers 1st game in 1970 as he was the trainer for the @cavs when the Blazers played opened their expansion season. Soon after leaving #Portland, Culp would join the expansion @MiamiHEAT, joining the team before the  1988 season. He retired in 2008 after 37 years in the @NBA. The #Heat Training Room was named in his honor after his retirement, and a banner hangs in the rafters of the @KaseyaCenter, where the Heat play.  After a short retirement in Bend, OR. Culp returned to Miami and the Heat as their official Senior Director of Stuff, where he worked on special projects, including speaking at high schools and colleges about his profession and honoring veterans at home games. ​Culp passed away in 2021 from cardiac arrest while recovering from back surgery. April 5 1991 - @terryporter30 scored 29 points and passed for 12 assists as the @trailblazers won their 9th straight game for the 5th time in their history. Porter was 11 of 16 FGA, including 6 of 8 3-PT FGA, including 18 points in the 3rd quarter, when he hit all 7 FGA. @JeromeKersey25 was a bucket behind Porter with 26 points and 11 rebounds, though he was 10 behind his front court-mate #BuckWilliams, who grabbed 21 rebounds. William's total was his best as a Blazer until the 1991/92 season when he grabbed 22 boards in a 2-OT game vs the @Pacers. March 18 1988 - @terryporter30 scored a career-high 40 points, including 16 in the final quarter, in the @trailblazers road victory vs the @warriors.   Porter, who also passed for 12 assists in the win, hit 14 of his 18 FGA and 12 of 13 FTA. #ClydeDrexler scored 30 and #KevinDuckworth added 20 more. It was the first time Porter crossed the 40-point mark. His previous high of 33 points was just recorded 3 days ago, in a win vs the @Lakers. Porter would eventually tie this mark in 1992 vs the #Warriors. #ChrisMullin scored 34 for #GoldenState, who retired the number 24 in honor of @Rick24Barry. Barry played 8 of his 14 years with the #Warriors and guided them to the 1974/75 @NBA Title. He scored 16,347 with Golden State and 18,395 in the #NBA.
