US Session Update: Banxico pulls a rabbit out of the hat for #USDMXN. A surprise cut from Banxico overnight saw USDMXN spike higher but not for long. The vote was split 3-2 for the cut, and the policy move was sold as "a one-time adustment lower", which confirms that rates have likely bottomed unless something materially changes. 18.95 was the spike high but we reverted back into the range quickly, with 18.82/85 area being respected once more, as is support aorund 18.68/69. 18.50's remains the key support, while 18.80/90 marks the range top while above the 50's. Volatile markets like yesterday emphasise why traders need to focus more on not losing money than on making money. Account protection is always paramount, whether you make money from these situations or not. That's why our Trader Funding Program should be viewed as a monetary/risk protection tool, as much as a leverage tool to trade a larger account size. Your risk is only the assessment account fee, or instant funding account fee. And among new additional tools now available, you can protect your profits even further by withdrawing them even faster. UK/EU Session Update: $100/101 is back to being decisive again in Brent #oil. A decent bounce from the 93/95 area has hit its head on the old 100/101 area. This has been a bit of a headline middle point at times. It was support initially on the drop from the 114's, and it's now resistance on the bounce. Another test and hold at 95.00 will show us the market has trade the latest hopium and without any new news or concrete steps towards a deal, we could see the price starting to grind higher again as patience for a deal wears out. The weekend still poses some risk for possible attacks by the US as those are still not off the table. Check out our platform for free at tradinganalytix.com/?account…

UK/EU Session Update: AUDNZD looks reluctant to get back above 1.24. Bounces above are failing but we've also had a strong bounce from support at 1.2355, and we're not pulling back too far from the 1.24 right now. We had some semblance of support around 1.2370's before the break to the lows but then we went both ways through it. I wouldn't discount the level on another dip. The 38.2 of the August rally is at 1.2338, and the 55 DMA is right there too at 1.2339. The area has been a bit of a level previously too, before the fib came in. UK/EU Session Update: #AUDUSD gets battered and brusied. AUD is in the risk ring and getting a bit beaten up. We hit the June lows, and did a bit more but we haven't held the break yet. The 6875 level here could become pivotal in where we go next. 0.6895/0.6900 is the next level above to watch, 0.6830 the downside one, ahead of the bigger 0.6800. As mentioned though, the Aussie is following risk, not it's own fundamentals, so keep that in mind when following/trading the techs. Check out our platform for free at tradinganalytix.com/?account…

UK/EU Session Update: #SPX pulls up at the July lows. Quite the move yesterday and now we wait to see if this is the start of a real downtrend, or just a refresh of the broader trend. We cleared out the late July bounce but found support right aroud those lows. We're still also some distance from the 38.2 of the bigger April rally, so it's not panic stations just yet. Today's low is going to be a good point to watch for what comes next. Another test and hold will likely see a stronger buying reaction and we could bounce all the way back to the 7500's. Whether we get that test could be determined by what happens to bounces into 7390/7400, which we've just failed on a test already. So, that's your range for now 7295/7300 to 7390/7400. UK/EU Session Update: The boat tilts again for #EURUSD. Another failure at the top of the range and now we've swung to to the other side. We're sub-1.12 and testing some former stall points around 1.1160/70. Under 1.1160 we'll be thinking about the prior lows down near 1.11. Don't rule out seeing support at 1.1150 and 1.1130/35 if we see a slow drfit lower rather than a fast one. Check out our platform for free at tradinganalytix.com/?account…

The Bank of England raised rates! But what happens with the #GBP from here? Plus, how are @forexflowlive and @KVanderschrick going to trade the breakout in $XAUUSD?

Not long until the clown show in Threadneedle St, so some quick thoughts. A hike is expected, so a hold will be the surprise. Much like the other central banks, it's not so much what they do today but what they will indicate for the future, and that's mostly about next year. The BOE have surprisingly (but sensibly) been reluctant to be uber hawkish. If they do turn more hawkish today GBP could benefit, although they will have to go harder than the current excessive market expectations. So, if anything, #GBP might get a bit softer if they're not massively hawkish (my expectation). The votes (6-3 or 7/2) probably won't shake markets but anything like a 5-4 will make it an less hawkish hike. The forecasts and their explanation of them at the presser will bore us all to death. I've also seen a lot of comments about whether the BOE will change their minds based on the oil moves of the last few days. Forget it. They're not oil scalpers, they are mon pol setters and their horizon is much further out than intraday price moves. Besides, the last 4 months of rising oil is more a factor for inflation to come than what it means for it over the last few days. My only trade outlook is for #EURGBP to get into the 0.82's and down to the big support in the mid-low 0.82's, though that's more of a longer-term trade idea than something to tinker with over this meeting.
