We could also end the car tax, end the grocery tax, get out of the carbon tax, lower power bills, and such. You know, things that work.
If you work full time in Virginia, you should be able to live in Virginia.
You should be able to keep up with your rent or your mortgage, fill your medications, and save for your kids’ futures.
That’s why we are raising Virginia’s minimum wage to $15 an hour. We’re investing in our workforce and our neighbors who power our economy.

Looking at Virginia 2025 “affordability” election, especially energy, Governor Spanberger - who campaigned on this issue - has doubled downed on the costly Virginia Clean Economy Act, forced us back into RGGI, and shunned new natgas and nuclear for unreliable wind and solar. Our bills are going up. She has a RGGI rebate to offset doubling of this tax, all her doing. As a result, among many things, she’s unpopular not even a year into her governorship.
Affordability isn’t a hoax nor a buzzword. But it’s being used as a bait and switch.
Remember: You can’t tax and spend your way to affordability…
