For decades, @KAFSCNY has raised awareness, broken stigmas, and supported survivors affected by domestic violence. In the AAPI community, these cases too often go unreported out of fear. I joined KAFSC for their 29th Annual Silent March to raise visibility on these issues.
Yesterday, we honored Patrick "Paddy" Gilmartin by renaming Queens Blvd and Broadway “Paddy G” Way.
After returning home from the Army as a decorated & wounded Vietnam veteran, Paddy found his calling in the bar industry and established himself at Paddy G’s. 🧵
I had the pleasure of meeting Paddy and his family in December 2022. Sadly, after a long battle with cancer, Paddy passed away in October 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was honored with an Army honor guard funeral.
