Mayor Nick Derzis said Monday that a second outside audit found Hoover could not locate financial records from prior years or recover them from backups, and former Mayor Frank Brocato’s administration never disclosed the report to the City Council or the incoming administration. “Learning that a second Kroll report had identified serious vulnerabilities in our information systems, and that those findings had not been disclosed to us during the transition, was deeply concerning,” Derzis said. "As we close in on one week from Election Day, there appear to be some confused conservatives across this state. For their own reasons, some have issues with voting for Coach Tuberville. Some have gone so far as to vote for Doug Jones instead, even though they are strong conservatives. They reason that even though Doug Jones is a liberal, he wouldn’t really be able to get anything done with a Republican supermajority Legislature. This, however, is backwards thinking. This belittling of the executive’s power in our state is dangerous, reckless and misinformed," Justin "JP" Plott writes. Read full piece: yellowhammernews.com/justin-… #Alabama #ALPolitics

"Left-wing historical revisionism is nothing new, and it should surprise no one that the leftist Democrats of Alabama once again resurrected this playbook for a, seemingly, apolitical race like Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries. Their attempts to hide their radicalism and almost appear normal, complete with endorsements by has-been “Republicans” exposes their desperation," Christine Carr writes. The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers are kicking off at 2:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium – the first time these two rivals will face off in this venue with a day-time start since 2010. While Tide fans may be happy to know the team will not be walking into the vaunted Tiger Stadium at night, it's worth noting the 2010 game was won by LSU 24-21, handing Alabama a second loss that season and ending Nick Saban's first quest for back-to-back national titles in Tuscaloosa. #Alabama #AlabamaFootball #CrimsonTide #LSU #CollegeFootball

Acting @SecArmy Adam Telle toured Anniston Army Depot on Monday alongside @RepMikeRogersAL (R-Saks), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. Telle, a Northport native and former Richard Shelby staffer, was named acting secretary by President Donald Trump in September. Rogers has represented the depot in Congress since 2003 and now chairs the committee that writes the Army’s budget. Monday was the first time an Alabama-born Army secretary walked the depot with him. Rogers grew up in Calhoun County, and his father worked at the depot as a firefighter. "It was my honor to join Alabama native and acting Secretary of the Army, Adam Telle, on a tour of the Anniston Army Depot," Rogers said.
