Starting November 2, 2026, new appraisal reports submitted to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac’s appraisal portal must use an updated format. What’s new? Separate interior and exterior condition ratings, more detail on kitchen and bathroom updates, and dedicated sections for energy-efficient and disaster-mitigation features. The goal is to have more consistent property information in a flexible report that adapts to the home. Homebuyer Tips 👉 Look beyond the appraised value. Review the property details, ask questions, and remember that an appraisal still doesn’t replace a home inspection.
