Sarah Paulson on the double-edged sword of interacting with “American Horror Story” fans on social media, who embody the global impact of the series but are prone to cruel criticism:
“It’s a very powerful thing to know that there are fans all over the world, people who are interested in the stories being told… There is this world now where people feel like there’s a way to make themselves stand out by being hypercritical… it doesn’t mean you have to like something you don’t like, but you can also just sit back and be quiet. You don’t have to make your presence known every five minutes.”
Sarah Paulson implies that she’s returning for “American Horror Story” Season 14, but says she hasn’t been told what it’s about yet:
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen next season, I don’t know what it’s going to be. I really don’t know. I wish I knew. [Ryan Murphy] does say to me ‘here’s what I’m thinking’ once he has the idea, so I think I’ll know something soon. But I don’t know anything yet.”
Sarah Paulson praises Evan Peters and says they both share a very “studious and serious” approach to acting on “American Horror Story,” in comparison to co-stars like Frances Conroy.
Jessica Lange ranks three of her most iconic “American Horror Story” one-liners:
1. “What is this? Knotty pine?!”
2. “There’s not going to be a swimming pool, you stupid slut.”
3. “This Coven doesn’t need a new Supreme. It needs a new rug.”
Jessica Lange says she’s ready to retire from acting due to the challenges of filmmaking in 2026 and talks about the legacy of her career:
“I actually feel like I’m coming to an end. And maybe it’s not a bad way to end, the last film being Long Day’s Journey Into Night and playing Mary Tyrone. There are a couple projects that have been in the works forever, that may or may not happen. I don’t know. It doesn’t seem easy to get things made anymore. At least not the films that interest me... [I hope I’m remembered] for some good parts, for doing some good films, and being an honest actor. I’ve been incredibly lucky. I’ve been really, really lucky because I love acting and I’ve had decades of being able to do it, which has been a joy for me. It’s been difficult at times, balancing family and career and locations and dragging my kids here and there, but it all was a great adventure. And I’m so grateful that that came my way.”
Paul Anthony Kelly says he could see himself reprising his #AHS13 role as Satan in the future and revealed that he is open to returning for “American Horror Story” Season 14:
“Maybe season 18 will be the rise of young Mr. Nas again… Who knows with Ryan Murphy? He’s always bringing things back and new twists and tales. It’s very possible. If I get the call, then yeah, I would seriously consider it. Yeah, but I have no idea. Who knows what’s in store.”
