After the break in at our catering kitchen and the theft of our two vans, the legends at @fordaustralia loaned us two brand new vans while ours were being located and repaired. Huge shoutout to Ford for their generosity!

This week, we were in Parliament with incredible advocates who have lived experience of seeking safety in Australia, and partners like RACS’ Sarah Dale, urging representatives to keep our migration system fair, free and safe.

Twenty-five years after Tampa, our leaders are still following the same playbook: make us fear each other so we don’t ask who’s really failing us. Read our CEO Kon’s opinion piece, published yesterday in Community Directors: pulse.ly/abhdkv5ytn

That’s a wrap on day two in Canberra! A huge thank you to everyone who donated to make our refugee delegation possible. Your support helped bring the voices of people directly impacted by these policies into Parliament. We’ve been heard, but there’s still a long way to go 💜

Today in Parliament, we’re telling politicians what removing work rights or limiting the time to lodge a protection claim will really mean for people.

We are in Canberra reminding politicians to ground themselves in the values of fairness, compassion and safety - values that represent our community. At a time when refugee rights are under attack, we need more politicians to represent and defend our multicultural communities.

We agree with the Liberals on one thing: this is a great multicultural small business. But you can’t announce huge cuts to migration, then use a migrant business for a photo op.
