⚠️ SCAM ALERT
We've been made aware of a phishing campaign targeting local users. This campaign is cloning parts of legitimate TV Licensing emails (so it looks realistic) and is being sent from multiple email address (so the campaign is harder to block).
Malicious links in these emails are abusing redirects from legitimate domains to trick both security controls and recipients into thinking they are safe.
WHAT TO DO:
👉 Do not interact with these emails
👉 Always verify emails through an independent channel, on a safe device
Remember, you can report phishing emails to us: [email protected]
If you've been the victim of a fraud, you should report it to States of Jersey Police
Yesterday, we we welcomed the Latvian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Atis Lots, to JCSC.
Along with colleagues from Economy, External Relations and Emergency Planning, we discussed the security challenges facing Jersey, and how we're addressing them.
The National Cyber Security Centre's annual report is focused on the UK, but includes important takeaways for those of us in the Jersey too:
👉 So far in 2026, the NCSC has supported organisations with 80 nationally significant cyber attacks

👉 AI is speeding up the pace of vulnerability exploitation, but even these attacks often exploit known vulnerabilities or poor security weaknesses.
👉 Malicious cyber attacks activity UK organisations £14.7 billion every year.

While many are focused on AI-enabled cyber threats, we're still seeing a failure of basic #cybersecurity controls leading to high profile attacks.
Within in the last month:
❌ In Denmark, hackers accessed names and addresses of around 8.8 million registered individuals
❌ In France, hackers accessed the temperature controls for supermarket fridges, leading to millions of euros of wasted food
In our latest blog, Senior Analyst James McLaren unpicks how both attacks happened, and what lessons your business can learn:
