Five days. New science. Big questions. Unforgettable moments. 🇪🇸
ESMO 2026 (@myESMO) in Madrid brought the global oncology community together — and OncoDaily was at the heart of the conversation.
🔬 From OncoDaily Grand Rounds: Sarcoma and Bladder Cancer Editions to thought-provoking discussions at Big Questions and Who Owns the Message?, we connected experts, advocates, and industry leaders to explore the future of cancer care.
🌙 Madrid Midnight by OncoDaily brought together more than 400 guests for an unforgettable celebration of friendship and connection.
🎤 Throughout the congress, our team captured the latest science, interviewed leading voices, and shared the stories shaping oncology worldwide.
With special thanks to our partners and supporters:
Sarcoma Edition: Agenus (@Agenus_Bio) (Enhanced Partner), Deciphera Pharmaceuticals (@Deciphera) (Educational Grantor), PharmaMar (@PhrmMar)(Foundational Partner), and Sarcoma Foundation of America (@CureSarcoma) (Strategic Patient Advocacy Partner).
Bladder Cancer Edition: Supported by an independent medical education grant from Astellas (@AstellasUS) and Pfizer (@pfizer) via the Pfizer–Astellas Alliance.
To everyone who joined us, supported our events, and helped make this week possible — thank you!

What does it take to show that a treatment works for people with a rare disease?
A petition submitted by the Haystack Project asks the FDA to consider evidence in the context of the disease and treatment being studied.
SFA’s experience illustrates why this matters. We submitted a letter to the FDA and participated in a meeting with a drug developer and the FDA about a potential approval pathway for a treatment being studied in two related sarcoma subtypes.
SFA provided sarcoma-specific expertise, focusing on whether the proposed study design offered an appropriate comparison and whether the outcomes measured would show meaningful benefits for patients. FDA representatives referenced SFA’s letter during the meeting.
In a recent Haystack Project case study, SFA CEO Brandi Felser shared how this experience shows the important role patient organizations can play in shaping how rare disease treatments are studied and evaluated.

"It was on our second date in the summer of 2020 that I heard Meghan say the word “sarcoma” for the first time. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of watching her navigate treatment, ring the bell toward healing, celebrate career promotions, and continue to show the same resilience she has carried throughout her 10-year journey with fibromyxoid sarcoma on the dura of her brain. As an asthmatic and someone who never considered myself the greatest athlete, when you watch someone you love fight so courageously, you decide you’d run to the end of the world for them. I have run over 500 miles and completed five half marathons in support of those and their families dealing with cancer, especially those who find themselves as the 1% of the 1%. Meg has been there for me at the finish line of every race I’ve run and this summer, I got to wait for her at the finish line down the aisle as we became husband and wife. The money raised on behalf of the Sarcoma Foundation of America will help strengthen and lengthen lives, and that’s why I’ll continue to lace up. Meg, you’re my hero." - Shaun Nerney, RTCS New Jersey
