Britische Regierungsvertreter haben ihn wegen des brutalen Krieges Russlands gegen die Ukraine zur Rede gestellt, Putin der Aggression bezichtigt und die russischen Drohnenangriffe auf ukrainische Zivilisten verurteilt haben. Die Botschaft war unmissverständlich: Der Mut der Ukraine ist nach wie vor außergewöhnlich, die europäische Unterstützung wird fortgesetzt, und Russland darf seinen Krieg nicht durch Öl- und Gaseinnahmen finanzieren. Die endgültige Demütigung kam, als sich die europäischen Minister weigerten, gemeinsam mit ihm für das traditionelle G20-Familienfoto zu posieren. Nachdem er aufgrund von Flugbeschränkungen für russische Flugzeuge mehr als 20 Stunden unterwegs gewesen war, sah sich Lawrow isoliert, öffentlich verurteilt und unwillkommen.

The United States has lifted restrictions on the Boeing Corporation’s engagement with the Belarusian national airline, Belavia -Igor Cherginets, Director General of Belavia, as reported by the news agency BelTA. The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted Boeing authorization to work with the Belarusian airline. "This will allow Belavia to directly obtain spare parts, components, and software for the aircraft currently in its fleet. Furthermore, it paves the way for negotiations regarding the direct acquisition of aircraft from Boeing. It is worth noting that a similar authorization had previously been issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, which provided the technical framework for direct cooperation between Belavia and Boeing. A year ago, the U.S. government issued an authorization that removed all sanctions—specifically political sanctions—against Belavia," the airline’s Director General stated.
